It’s hard to complain about the appearance of the property from the outside. It is a beautiful colonial style architecture. However this hotel has a multitude of problems. First of all, there’s no air conditioning in any of the common areas. With the Dominican humidity it just makes for a miserable walk from the entrance to the room. There were many items in the room that were not functional. The safe did not work, the remote for the television did not work (however they did fix it) and there are frequent power outages – I counted 10 and a two day period that I was there. This presents particular problems for the elevators and I was stuck in an elevator when the power went off and I had to wait until the power came back on to get out. The next time I stepped in to the elevator, the floor of the elevator was much lower than the floor level of the hotel,Because the elevator had not yet adjusted to the proper level. There is absolutely nothing to do in this hotel and there are no good food options whatsoever. The hotel has an in adequate amount of staff. I came down to ask for a bottle of water, because the communication with the front desk did not work from the room telephones. However the water was never delivered and I had to sneak a couple of bottles off of the maids cart when I was walking through the hall. The one saving grace of the hotel is the beautiful swimming pool in the back and very attractive grounds. The breakfast buffet was sad and There are no food concessions

Quality Hotel was close to the airport.

Pros: The staff and services (kitchen, dining room and housekeeping) were very professional and polite.
Cons: The money exchange rate should be equal to that of the banks and supermarkets, the hotel should not be charging their guests so much.
Location: Close to the airport, Boca Chica beaches, downtown Santo Domingo. (Take the buses, cabs at the hotel are too expensive).
I booked two weeks for myself and family (2-sons and wife) and was given a room on the third floor. During the two-week stay the management had scheduled the roof tile replacement (very noisy during the daytime) causing one week of the pool being closed and the area roped off. Management also scheduled re-painting the third floor hallways causing my wife and two boys to move to another room (I stayed in our third floor room because it was too much trouble to pack and unpack all our luggage) for one night due to the paint fumes. The hotel money exchange was 40.15 pesos to the dollar when the rate was 46.95 Pesos at the Ole' Supermarket (that amounts to a $15.00 charge for each $100.00 exchanged). My dissatisfaction is with Management/owners of Quality Hotel, not with the staff, they were wonderful.

Worst hotel ever.

Pros: The pool.
Cons: The staff and the rooms.
Location: Location is bad, hard to find and staff is very unfriendly.
Slow checking process, bad water pressure, tv only 4 channels, bad location, unfriendly staff, room was dated, no a/c in the hallways or restaurant, overpriced hotel, guest service standard do not fit choice hotels.
