Clean room. Quiet setting. Overlooking the playa. Not suitable for guests with limited mobility because of the long stairs going up and down the hill to get to the playa. 10minute walk to the playas.

The staff really made this place an easy 5 stars. The manager Sylvia was kind and informative and the breakfasts were phenomenal. The property is a bit of a hike but the view was truly unforgettable. The property is well looked after and the pool was beautiful. The rooms were clean and comfy. We hope to return one day...asap!

Calm oasis close to town

Second time at Casa KalMar, we love it. Really like the location removed from the town, although the stairs can be a bit tough in the middle of the hot day. Lovely pool, and love the breakfast.

Casa Kal Mar is amazing. You arrive and walk out to the infinity pool and unobstructed 180 degree views of the ocean and the beaches and town below. We loved Casa Kal Mar. We spent a lot of our time there. We could lounge around, or go down to the beaches and the towns in the area, and come back to our little Casa Kal Mar retreat and soak in the pool or lounge around. Very laid back perfect home base. We LOVED IT! We can't wait to come back! And the staff were all very nice and helpful!

There are not enough superlatives to describe Casa Kalmar. The property is beautiful. The view is divine. The breakfast is plentiful: fruit yogurt and granola to start then fresh cooked hot food. The staff will do anything for you. We had the top floor room that was spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend. The cats and dog were good company. It was perfect. As seasoned world travellers this place is now in our top five best accommodations list. Don't think twice it's all right.

Casa Kel Mar is an excellent place to stay, we rented the top floor and it was amazing. Beautiful ocean views, beautiful sunrise and also beautiful sunset all from the top deck. Staff is amazing and always helpful. You can walk to town in about 15 minutes, just be prepared to walk up over 200 steps! Worth it!

My stay in Casa KalMar was amazing. The stuff was always helpful and very nice. We good delicious breakfast every morning and whenever we need something else, they were very nice and gave us what we needed. I recommend Casa KalMar specifically if you want to stay in a quiet place and enjoy the weather and beach. Private beach and the views from the hotel were stunning. Thank you Casa KalMar.

Loved our stay at Casa KalMar, the view is incredible! The breakfast was delicious, the host and staff are nice and helpful. The room we had was smaller than what i anticipates but overall it was good. The AC works great! There is not a TV but you might not need it with the sea view from your room doorstep. My only concern was all the little bugs that somehow get inside the room. However you are in a jungle environment so highly recommended bug spray. Thank you Silvia for hosting us! we enjoyed our stay and loved the free roaming kittens and dog.

We stayed in the Cantamar suite that is the entire top floor of the building. It has a wrap around balcony, kitchen and bar area separate bedroom and bathroom. The views of Zipolite beach are breathtaking. The highlight is the infinity pool which is so refreshing and clean. Our hostesses Christina and Sylvia were so lovely and they speak fluent English, French, Spanish and others. They are accommodating to your every request and we felt like family. Small and intimate we made some wonderful connections and friends here. Great value for the money. We will be back.

Beautiful stay

Beautiful place atop the hill overlooking the beach. Staff is flawless. Daily cleaning is a nice touch. Do expect things like ants and a few bugs around…it’s part of being in a more remote place. Breakfast is simple and delicious. Incredible views. Can’t wait to go back, Sylvia, Christina and staff are wonderful, attentive and dedicated.

Casa Kalmar is absolutely amazing! From the week kept facilities, beautiful room, amazing service, it is almost impossible to find a fault. The only thing to be cautious about is the stairs going to the beach and restaurants. If your unable to do stairs then you will need to take a taxi which is about 100 Pesos about $4.75 American. The view from the room makes this small problem worth every step in our opinion. We travel a fair amount and I cannot think of a place that I would rate higher. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
