What was particularly impressive was the gentleman who came in place of the bellman who had not yet shown up for work at 4:15 am. He was a maintenance man, i believe, and after getting our luggage down from the room ensured that valet parking attendant get the car promptly, which had not yet happened. He also refused a tip. I hope the park central will reward him for outstanding service.

comfortable

Pros: cleanliness comfort and quiet,,knowing I was in a busy section of downtown SF. I didn't get any street noise.
Cons: upgrade the check in area.
very clean room and extremely quiet, the bed was very comfortable and the hotel was exactly what I was hoping for, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet comfortable and reasonably priced hotel.

Nice place to stay, a bit noisy

Pros: Very close to many restaurants and stores and shopping centers.
Cons: Room noise level.
Was able to check in before the check in time, that was good. Bed was comfortable, large room and bathroom, very neat and clean. Had to use your room card to use the elevator, nice security feature. We where on the 5th floor, with a street view room, not far from the elevators, which where fast. At night you could hear some street noise, the person next door and the elevator working. Noise not too bad, we could still get to sleep. Very close to many restaurants and stores and shopping centers.

This hotel hates individual travelers.

Pros: The night restaurant/bar staff. Also liked the young morning car valet who did have a uniform.
Cons: Hotel check-in staff, morning restaurant staff, and bellmen are some of the rudest people I have ever met. Stop nickel and diming the individual.
Location: Baseball game, Chinatown, Union square, Mid-town bookstore
The check-in woman was rude and uncaring at check-in. She tried to talk me into a lesser room even though I had specifically reserved and pre-paid (non-refundable, this rate had even decreased about one week prior.) So, I guess they wanted to make more money off of me. I told her no, I needed that room because there were 3 in our party. "Well It's just that you made your reservation through a THIRD party. It was as if I was contaminated. She begrudgingly gave us our room on the spot floor. She made sure it was next to the elevator. Great views on the 33rd floor, but that elevator went up and down all night. There were three sets of towels, but only two sets of glasses. Why? They nickel and dime you for everything, Internet and refrigerator. While I was waiting out front for my husband who was checking-in a strange man ran forward, yanked our car door open, and jumped in. I told him he couldn't just get into our car like that as he tried to find the ignition. See in there were no keys in it, he jumped out. "Yes, I can," he said. "I'm valet . . . sort of like a supervisor and this car needs to move." I didn't see him in a uniform, nor had anyone for the last 15 minutes offered to help with our bags, so I didn't quite know what to say. I pointed to a large empty area. He promptly jumped into the car behind us and move it to the spot I'd identified. When my husband returned we took our own luggage to our room. The next day we also took all our luggage downstairs.

Good location, all else was not so great.

It's a good location to walk to restaurants near by and a close drive to the Pier. All else wasn't great , outdated bathroom, the toilet had little water pressure, would get clogged easily with tissue, the room was cold, the ironboard was not sturdy. I suppose it's expected out of an older hotel but I would not return.

decent hotel

Pros: It was a OK hotel for the few days we were in town.
Cons: room size, especially bathroom.
Location: The location was OK one you walked a block up from the hotel to really find restaurants as there are a couple of sandwich shops across the street.
nice hotel. We had a King room and it was on the small size. Bathroom is small in comparison to other hotels I've stayed at of the same quality.
