A friendly, comfortable place to stay

There's nothing outstanding about this facility. It's an older motel with pretty basic amenities, BUT the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. We liked that it was in more of a business and residential area, and not crawling with tourists constantly! Plus, the Muni stops on the same block, so public transit is easy! Also, parking was free. You can't beat free parking in SF!

Great Hotel at a Reasonable Price

This was a nice hotel at a descent price. The rooms were clean with a small kitchen and cookware. The staff were great. The location was ok, within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and other attractions (if you don't mind a little walking) or close to city transportation. And there's off street parking if you have a car. Outside noises can be a little loud sometimes. Other than being woke up a couple times, I slept pretty comfortably though. The 'breakfast' is nothing to write home about, it looked like some pastries. However, there are plenty of great cafes and coffee shops on Van Ness and surrounding streets where you can get breakfast. All in all, a great place to stay for the San Francisco traveler on a budget.

Great location, price, and staff

Pluses: you can walk to shops on Union St., Van Ness, and to Fisherman's Wharf. Staff is very helpful. Room was big, clean, and bed was comfortable. Coffee and muffin in the A.M. Minuses: No coffee pot in room. Thermostat did not work, so room was COOL.

Good location, friendly staff, free parking.

Pros: Liked: location, helpful friendly staff, parking, comfortable beds,large fridge, coffee and muffins in the AM..
Cons: We would have liked coffee makers in the room. It was pretty cool and changing the thermostat did not warm the room at all.
Location: It is right on Union St., which has lots of shops and eateries. We could walk to Fisherman's Wharf even though we are senior citizens.
We had two rooms and they were both excellent. They were clean and one even had a kitchenette. For the price, they were much better than average in San Francisco.

Pleasantly surprised

I was wanting a cheap place for a girls getaway. This place was inexpensive, didn't charge me for parking, and Jonah at the evening check-in desk gave me a free room upgrade. The upgraded room had new carpet and tile. I was pleased with the customer service and the price of the room. Thanks for everything!
