Mid-Century decor, 3bd/3bath, two patios, 1 mile from downtown Salida

Our home is nestled on a hillside behind Salida's famous S Mountain, just over a mile from downtown. Hundreds of miles of mountain biking and hiking trails sprawl across these gorgeous hills.
We have outfitted our home to reflect our modern tastes and to accommodate all the creature comforts we enjoy on vacation. Large windows and two patios make sure you've got plenty of access to Colorado sunshine and spectacular mountain views.
Three spacious bedrooms and three full bathrooms. No pets.


You get sole access to the entire place. We keep a close eye on the place to make sure it stays in excellent shape, and if you need anything during your stay, we're just a call or message away!

There are three private queen bedrooms in the home, one with a twin bunk over top. Three full bathrooms and two separate living areas that open off the kitchen and dining rooms. One has a very stylish pull-out couch, and air mattresses can be provided if desired. The other (main) living area has a sectional couch, TV, and breath-taking views from its multiple, large windows.
Just up the road from the house you can access hundreds of miles of mountain biking and hiking trails that sprawl across these gorgeous hills. Or ride into town (all downhill!) and if you're not up for huffing it back "home," call the local cabby for a cheap lift--they've got bike racks!
Starlink internet is provided, along with three smart TV's so guests can log in to their own streaming platforms.
Want to stay in and cook? You’ll enjoy the well-equipped kitchen! Or order curbside pick-up or delivery from one of Salida's many nearby restaurants.
Our cleaning standards have always been very high (as you can tell by our reviews), but with the advent of the COVID 19 threat, we've doubled-down our already high disinfecting standards to ensure the safety of our employees, guests, and our entire community.


Please note that this home is STRICTLY pet-free, due to severe allergies among the homeowners. Any evidence of a pet having been on the property will necessitate a professional upholstery cleaning of the entire home, which will be billed to the offending party (between $300 and $500, depending on the depth of clean needed). Please DO NOT bring pets or allow any animals on the property. Thank you in advance for complying.

Room for improvement

Suggestions for improvement : 1. Thermostat broken and in pieces when we arrived. 2. Improve clarity on lack of air conditioning on website other than simply not listing under amenities. Detailed internet problems, why not include no air conditioning in description. 3. Strong odor found in kitchen emanating from sink. Covered drain in order to reduce odor. 4. Vegetation along driveway needs to be trimmed so as not to scratch vehicles. 5. Cable Hopper dropped out of service several times during stay. House was very warm in the afternoons in the August heat. Otherwise clean and comfortable.

wonderful hide away

The house is very comfortable and conveniently located to town, and it also far enough away that we had plenty of privacy and quiet nights. The hosts were very responsive to questions we had during our stay. We were surprised on arrival to read that it does not have A/C. The note above the thermostat says “as indicated in the listing", but the listing says that it DOES have air conditioning. The house did stay quite cool with opening the windows as suggested, it was just an unexpected surprise, and I’d recommend making it more clear in the listing.

Winter Wonderland

This house was so cozy and easy to love! We had everything we needed, and would love to stay here again. Salida itself is a great place to visit, and it’s proximity to ski areas and other recreation make it an ideal vacation spot. Perfect Perch in Salida

Had a wonderful stay where we were close to all that we headed to Colorado to do - hike, fish, and ski! The location gave us a beautiful scenic view of snow-capped mountains and was close enough to Salida to conveniently access any services we needed. The house accommodated 4 people very well except for the sofa bed where our teen boys slept was hard and uncomfortable. It didn't keep them from sleeping after full days of mountain air and activity, though. There is a cupboard with some games that came in handy, too! Thanks. Other than the bed, we loved this place.
