FIVE STARS with complete endorsement of this resort. My sister and I came for a 4 day weekend escape from Atlanta. From the first moment walking into the lobby it was beyond our expectations. Spotlessly clean, safe, courteous staff and phenomenal food as well as a myriad of activities. Great. Great. Great from two seasoned super picky travellers. My sister said this place was like an Adult luxury health camp. No kids appreciated greatly! ADULTS ONLY. We WILL be back and checking out another Melia soon. Activity director and aquatics leader Girely was particularly helpful.

The resort is beautiful as are the grounds. It is quite large and depending on where your room is it can be up to a 15 minute walk to the beach however there are carts that come by every 5 minutes or so to shuttle people to/from. The food variety in the buffets is a bit smaller than hoped and the repetition is noticeable toward the end of the week. The service in the a la carte restaurants is extremely slow so take that into consideration when making reservations however the food is good. One area of improvement would be the friendliness of the staff. Few if any greet you with a “hello” or a smile in the buffet for example. Some staff seem disinterested. A better attitude would go a long way. Overall, the resort is absolutely beautiful and the beach is as well. We enjoyed our time there.

Our stay was over our expectations. It was absolutely amazing and fantastic. The staff in our opinion is the best asset of a resort, they were really helpful, friendly and a most; very fun people. They always asked us if we need something and they treat us like vip!. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, very elegant, fancy and at the same time very tropical. The spa is above and beyond, that means if you want to relax and renew yourself this is your place. It is so special and beautiful that I felt like in another planet. The beach and the pool area are amazing. The concierge service was 24 hours for us, Junio Taveras was our host and make it happen everything that we needed and more. He was the best service that we received, thanks so much Junior again!. The animation staff like Jeffrey was so fun and nice vibe that we got a lot of fun. Mercedes and Benjamin at the morning buffet were really helpful and full of energy. Rebeca at the check have the most amazing smile to start your stay and Ana Hidalgo did our check out so well that we didn’t want to leave the resort. I highly recommend the stay if you want to renovate your soul, have a fun and fancy holidays and also have an amazing food. Thanks so much guys for absolutely everything!

To be quite honest overall this was a very poor experience. From the room leaking water out of the AC, to the constant pressure to book more amenities that should already be included with the $1400USD/ 5 Days I paid. Don’t even get me started with the lack of food safety/proper food handling procedures that they bypass. The food was overall very cold 9/10, they leave things out without constant heat going, which is an automatic trip to the hospital. My wife and I barely ate anything the entire stay. We made two reservations, Yumay was actually pretty good while Moui was just plane cold and distasteful. The staff here deserves the only recognition out of the entire experience. These people DO NOT get paid enough for the stuff they have to do and go through. I want to mention that Rebeca, Greylin, Yenifer, Jazmin made our stay A LOT less miserable, they were attentive and tried their absolute hardest to satisfy those around them! Considering this is an Adults only Resort (there’s 5 resorts here in total) things close fairly early, at 11pm they stop serving alcohol and by 10 all restaurants are closed. There’s a “snack bar” that stays open 24/7 but several times we went we were met with extreme attitude like we were a burden to them, and in one instance we were told they ran out of everything (it was 1AM) which makes no sense being that it’s supposed to be 24/7. I give this a 2/5, and that’s just because you can’t deny how nice the beach is along with the staff members.
