Great resort!

Loved everything about the resort. We upgraded to The Level Adults Only and were so glad we did. Beautiful resort, great food and friendly staff. Their service was amazing. Jonathan Pache made our stay there extremely pleasant. He helped us with everything we needed. Will definitely return.

Bad food and bad alcohol. All alcohol was watered down and only the cheap stuff was included. Buffet food was the same frozen foods every day.

Great food and staff

Pros: The restaurants were great and the staff was super friendly. The hotel is very beautiful.

I thought I was getting a Deluxe Room with a King Size Bed, instead I received a room which was far from pool/beach, and restaurants with two full beds. The floors were not swept or mopped the entire stay which is completely unacceptable. We had several issues throughout the week: 1) Waited 2 1/2 hours after check in to receive our luggage. 2) Had a large bug in room- front desk was notified, however after returning from an all day excursion, bug was still in room until 10:30 p.m. that evening! 3) Trolley service was slow and often times there were no seats available, causing us to wait for another one. This wasted alot of our time throughout the day. 4) Door key would not work at one point. After calling front desk 3 times, we were forced to wait at least 30 minutes in the hot sun for maintenance to arrive. 5) Service was slow at dinner and we had to wait 30-45 minutes at times to be seated. I've never had to wait at all at an all inclusive and shouldn't have to. 6) The development smelled like horse manure which was quite disturbing. 7) Bottled water was unavailable at any of the bars 8) The only quality restaurant was La Maison, and buffets at American Grill and Algora- we were served raw chicken one night, food was extremely salty and not cooked well 9) Last but not least, there was an extreme language barrier, as many employees only spoke Spanish and not English. The amount of solicitors on beach were irritating as they attempted to sell you products/services all day.

It was ok but I was expecting better due to the rating on the site. They truly need to work on their buffet especially at breakfast. Bahía Principe was way much better. Dinners at Meliá are the best though. Lunch at the beach was also good. Entertainment top rated. They also need to work on the transportation. They need trolleys running more often.

Nice hotel, but staff doesn't clean the pool well. It was dirty the entire week of our stay and we saw pool cleaners only 4 times during the week, and no cleaning at night. Staff didn't respond to complaints in a timely fashion or at all. The service at the Steak and Lobster restaurant, the one that doesn't come as part of the all-inclusive content, had the worst service of all the restaurants - all the rest of which had excellent, friendly and mostly attentive servers. The plumbing in our 2 rooms was horrendous and at the beach shower as well - that shower and our room shower was always clogged and the toilets flushed poorly.

Resort was very clean, however, housekeeping was awful. Some days they never even came to make up the room. Brought clean towels at 8pm. Resort is entirely too big. Entertainment in the evening is a joke. For as big as Melia Caribe is, the entertainment is for preschoolers. The DJ in the lounge was better than the production at the theater. There was nothing for The Level guests. Other resorts have live music, cocktail parties, theme nights or other forms of entertainment. Service in the restaurants was very good, however, the Level staff was very slow and sometimes we were even ignored. Excursion was fun but The Scape Park staff was very unprofessional and unorganized. The island is under a lot of construction and not very pretty. There were no flowers and the ocean was full of seaweed and the water sandy.

Rooms need to be updated and need location signs

The resort is beautiful. It was disappointing that the room needed updating. Also, there were no location signs giving direction or identifying the various facilities within the resort.
