Clean and comfortable

Our family enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable and the home had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed setting around the fire pit at night and fishing the lake by day

The house was great for our family of 10. Kitchen had plenty of dishes, silverware, and cookware. The table seated all comfortably. There were plenty of towels. The game room was frequently used. We enjoyed our stay.

Friends Valentines retreat

We enjoyed the large table for games and dinner. The beds were very comfortable. The pool room was nice and the hot tub was great! I would recommend this place for an out-of-the-way escape.

Maple Woods Retreat

Everything was perfect for our group of 7. Everything needed for cooking and sleeping was there. All had a great time exploring the surrounding area for beaches and stores. Thanks for a week of family memories.

Lovely spacious wooded hideaway

Great place for family reunion. Well laid out and stocked kitchen with huge table to accommodate our group of 8 adults and one toddler. Lovely porches to sit on. 20 minutes from South Haven and near several local breweries and nice you-pick farms.

quiet, clean and spacious

We stayed in this home for my sons wedding. It was perfect for what we needed. Clean, spacious and plenty of room. They had every thing we needed there. Watching the deer roam around was a bonus.

The house is well maintained and clean. The rooms are small but bright and functional. Kitchen had just about everything you could want from good knives, to dishes, blender, crock pot. You get the idea. Our October stay was fantastic for Fall colors. When it rained, we sat on the screened in porch, had some wine, and listened to the rain fall on the roof.Air hockey and pool were fun. (We didn't play foosball)Although the beach was too far for us to walk, we drove to it. It was clean and looked just like the pictures on the listing.

Girls Retreat

Great space for us!!!! Very clean!!! We had everything we needed. Communication was fantastic and very helpful!! We enjoyed the time having fun and not having to worry about anything!!

It was a very clean and nice house. It was perfect for our weekend, and the game room and hot tube got a lot of use! However from the initial posting we thought it was a beach house, turns out the beach is located about a mile away

All In The Family

We all had a wonderful time, from my 94 year old mother to my 2 year old grand daughter. We didn't have any problems and enjoyed the peace and solitude of the surroundings. And Elizabeth came through with guaranteeing us great weather.

Comfortable home surrounded by unpleasant neighborhood and not on a lake

My family stayed here over Christmas weekend. The home very comfortably accommodated 6. The game room is very cool and was enjoyed by many. There are no real trails to walk and the lake is a drive from the home. The surrounding area/homes were rough.

Perfect House, Great Host!

I’m so happy our group chose this house! To start off with the millions questions we all had, the host Kim was great and quick at answering them all. Now with the house.. it is exactly what is shown in the picture! The cleanliness in the house was above expectations. Each room was set up perfect for everyone! Next time we hope to stay longer! Thanks for having us.

Private, great features, close to Lake Michigan

We really loved the property! Private location with no neighbors on either side. Nice sized yard, very nice fire pit, outdoor hot tub, game room! It was perfect for adults and young kids. Got to see some wildlife in the yard (deer, toads, fireflies, etc.). About 20 min or so from Lake Michigan/South Haven and spent a day on the beach there. Great instructions about check in/out, rules, etc. Easy to get in communication with property managers. Loved it.

Great house

The house was spacious, clean, and well stocked. We really enjoyed the lake and beach as well, it is a (very) small beach but great for our small kids. We fit three families in the house easily. Not far from Saugatuck or South Haven, so we spent time there as well. Only issue we had was a smoke alarm going off in the middle of the night (low batteries) and it took us a while to turn it off, and we did not receive new batteries the next day as requested. Otherwise the house manager was very responsive, and we overall enjoyed our time at the house.

Nice place

Nice place, overall. It was pretty much as the other reviewers have said. Lots of space for 7 adults and one child. The house was a bit difficult to find but the dock was easy to locate. The outdoor space was nice too. Saw some deer in the morning.The only negatives were that the mattress in the back bedroom needs replacing as it is pretty uncomfortable, and there was what looked and smelled like mold on the vanity in the bathroom inside the game room. We had to air it out and keep the bathroom door closed before spending time in there.

Privacy

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Maple Woods Hideaway. We loved so much about it and would like to share a few things. The kitchen was so spacious and had everything you would need to cook with down to crockpot, roasting pan, and not just 1 cutting board but several and we needed them. There was so much cupboard space for our food and that helped keep the counters clear. The supply of dishes and coffee cups were awesome and we never ran out of clean dishes with our large group. We all were able to seat around the big table and eat together. The hot tub was perfect temperature and the shower in the game room was great for rinsing off. Having the game room was a big plus and liked that it was detached from the house to keep noise level down inside house. We drove into South Haven and Saugatuck and visited a few wineries which were so close. I would defiantly stay here again if I wanted privacy and away from the towns.

TOP NOTCH Property!!!

I can't say enough about this property! The homeowners were very responsive to my (many!) questions prior to going. The property manager was also very responsive to my questions while we were there. She got back to me immediately each time. The home was very neat and clean. All of the rooms were exactly as pictured, there were no surprises. There were plenty of bathroom and kitchen supplies provided. The kitchen table was large enough to accommodate all of us for meals and board games (8 pp). The rec room was a huge hit which was no surprise. It was what attracted us to this home. But we didn't use it much because we spent most of our time at the dock. It was such a short drive that we could easily go back to the house to grab something quick or use the bathroom. The boys enjoyed fishing and there were many local options to purchase live bait. We pre-arranged for kayaks to be delivered. Everyone agreed that this was their favorite thing. The property itself has a huge yard so we were able to set-up our cornhole game. The pavilion and picnic table were shaded for our meals. The fire pit at the home was by far the best one that we've had at a VRBO home. It requires A LOT of wood because it's huge, and finding it locally was challenging, so plan ahead. Our only negative was the neighborhood, it was run down, but we never felt unsafe or concerned, and the home occupies so much property that you don't even notice that when you're there. GREAT RENTAL!!!

Nice place

We enjoyed our stay at the house. The kids loved spending time in the detached game room which was nice and quiet for the adults in the house. We enjoyed the firepit and the hot tob as well. The house was pretty clean when we arrived and the house manager was quick to respond to any questions we had. There was a ton of land around the house. Weather didn't turn out as nice as we hoped to be able to use the boats we rented, but house manager told us there was a resident snake you had to scare away before going in - totally turned us off to going there. We went to both Saugatak and South Haven - both about a 20 minute drive. Wish it was closer, but we booked late in the season. Overall a great stay.

Great place to make memories with big families.

Perfect for what we were looking to do. Going to South Haven beaches was our main objective and it was a quick 20 min drive. The fire pit and large outside area in back yard was perfect for the kids to play and eat s’mores. Every kitchen gadget needed was there along with the high chair and pack n play which came in handy! Game room and hot tub were used daily and enjoyed by the whole family. 3 and a half bathrooms were great and the xtra long kitchen table was great. I would recommend this house to others with bigger families. Only complaint is directions on driving apps have wrong street names so a lil tricky to find. Clean, peaceful, quaint property!
