We stayed 5 nights - house is in a great location- we were able to explore the whole island! Was great to have the swimming pool to come back to after a day of hiking. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to cook a good meal. Overall the whole house was very comfortable and a pleasure to stay in.

Beautiful peaceful life experience

We were greeted by Sandra, she was an excellent host, easy communication and she helped us with places to visit during our stay. The property was amazing with a little farm near by, with chickens, gooses, turkeys … the sunsets and sunrises were amazing. The location was near the airport and other view points. Upon arrival we were greeted with a fresh basket of eggs,bread,milk… We will return in the futur!

Gorgeous home in a beautiful place

Our flight into Ponta Delgada was delayed until midnight and the host assured us it was no issue and met us at the house at 1:00am. What service and hospitality! The home is absolutely perfect and was exactly as pictured. We wish we could have stayed longer and just enjoy the house and surrounding landscape. Was the perfect place to spend 3 days and an end to our Portuguese vacation. Thank you so much!

Azores Delight

Set on top of a hill overlooking the Ocean, the setting is ideal while within easy reach of Ponta Delgada. We had a very comfortable stay. Sandra, the host, was amazingly kind and helpful. We’d definitely stay here again.

Ein super Urlaub

Haus und Grundstück sind sehr großzügig angelegt. Mit 6 Personen hatten wir mehr als genügend Platz. Zu Einrichtung und Sauberkeit gab es keine Beanstandungen. Das Haus liegt absolut ruhig. Ein eigenes Auto ist hier allerdings ein Muss. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und jederzeit für uns ansprechbar. Die Kinder waren vor allem vom Pool angetan und vom riesigen Garten, den wir nach Bedarf nutzen konnten. Im Großen und Ganzen ein wirklich toller Urlaub....jederzeit wieder!!!!!

Großes Haus mit toller Aussicht

Als wir ankamen wurden wir bereits von Hausbesitzerin Sandra erwartet und mit einigen Azorianischen Spezialitäten willkommen geheißen. Nach kurzem Rundgang und vielen wertvollen Tipps konnten wir unseren Urlaub mit kleinen Einschränkungen genießen. Daher zunächst das Negative. Die tolle Aussichtsterrasse wollten wir nur eingeschränkt nutzen, da dort die Tauben unter den Dachbalken nisten und entsprechenden Schmutz machen. Hier sollten sich die Besitzer noch etwas einfallen lassen und zumindest öfter säubern. Zudem könnten die Terrassenmöbel einmal erneuert werden. Die wirken, als ob sie jahrelang in der Garage standen. Haus und Grundstück wurden erst im Jahr 2016 übernommen und werden seitdem umfassend renoviert. So sind Teile des riesigen Grundstücks noch etwas unordentlich. Aber es wird dank des Gärtners täglich ein kleines Stück besser. Jetzt zu den vielen positiven Dingen. Sandra betreut das Haus liebevoll und wechselt bei Bedarf jederzeit Bettwäsche und Handtücher und steht jederzeit für Fragen zur Verfügung. Der hauseigene Gemüsegarten steht den Besuchern zur freien Verfügung. Und die Vielfalt ist groß... Die Terrasse und der Pool bieten eine fantastische Aussicht und sind groß genug, damit 3 Kinder toben können. Auch das Haus selber ist groß, bietet viel Platz und hat alles, was man für zwei Wochen Urlaub benötigt. Es fehlt nichts und landestypisch eingerichtet. Fazit: Wenn man das Taubenproblem in den Griff bekommt, entsteht auf der Casa das Hortencias ein kleines Paradies. Eines sollte man jedoch vorher wissen. Schäferhund "Tofu" lebt mit auf dem Grundstück, kann aber bei Bedarf in den Zwinger gesperrt werden. Das ist aber nicht nötig, da Tofu sehr lieb ist. Tipps für Aktivitäten können wir nicht geben. Es gibt einfach zu viele Möglichkeiten. Nur eines. Da man auf ein Auto angewiesen ist, eignet sich Sao Miguel durchaus für Strandbesuche. Der Strand Santa Barbara ist mit dem Auto 15 Minuten entfernt in Ribeira Grande und super schön.
