Host was not responsive as far as what we needed. Main bathroom was so gross we couldn't use it, not clean and smelled awful, we kept the door shut the entire time, dishes were dirty we had to soak most of what we were using, no beach towels provided, we had to go buy some it took 4 days to get any! Lights were out or flickering, blinds in the master were broke and stuck down the entire stay, floors dirty. Windows you could barely see out of they probably have never been washed. No lamps next to side of bed. This could be a really nice condo just needs some more work. Great location, really loud at night, and the pool, beach and front desk staff awesome. Will not stay in this unit ever again but will stay in other units in the complex.

The view is stunning, the location couldn’t be better, and the pool area was awesome! We loved staying here! The staff at the El Faro Condos were amazing - they recognized and started conversations with each guest, and were so helpful! There were, however, a lot of things in the condo that were disappointing. Our host responded within 36 hours of our message that we didn’t have kitchen towels or hot pads, and only one coffee mug. Small general maintenance issues included: oven falling out of its space, microwave falling off its shelf, toilet tank cracked, the kitchen faucet sprayed half into the counter when used, the blinds that would not go higher than waist high in the bedroom, and consistent construction noise on the floor every day for at least 3 hours. We enjoyed the live music next door every night, except for a few nights that go really late or loud. Most of the time, it’s not audible in the bedroom.Please understand - we LOVED our stay, and this condo is amazing! We just were disappointed with the maintenance of it. Carina, Paco and the daytime and night security were truly fantastic! Thank you!!

Check in was great. Friendly staff. Apartment was spacious and clean. Limited general supplies, such as towels, kitchen supplies, such as tea towels and oven mitts. Patio door was broken and required 2 people to open. Balcony very small with no seating. Not enough pillows for 4 guests. Great location

Amazing Ocean View apartment

The apartment gave me one of the most pleasant stays in Playa del Carmen after several years.it has an amqzing View of the ocean, close to all the nice places in town and it has everything you need to have a great time. Deferment has a nice restaurant across the street that plays music but I did not have any problem at all and actually I felt that I was getting a band show for free while I was sitting on the balcony drinking a beer or a glass of wine.I loved the swimming pool facing the ocean, it is just few steps from areas with white sand on south side one but you have to walk more to go to the famous playa mamita's which is a great spot to meet people.The only recommendation for the owner is to check the toilets because sometimes the water kept running, the security is great at the main FYI- all your visits are during the day and no one is allowed in the evening unless they are registered as guest. I will be back if the apartment is available in my next trip.Don't hesitate to book this apartmen. I think it's perfect for a couple but a third person will be difficult unless they don't mind to sleep on couch.Thank you!!!

El apartamento es amplio y cómodo. La piscina y playa son bonitas. Está en buenas condiciones. NO HAY INTERNET y no se molestaron en resolverlo. Hay gotera en el lavamanos, hay música toda la noche de los bares, cuesta mucho abrir la puerta del balcón, se ve desde afuera hacia el apartamento y NO hay parqueo. Cobran aparte $15 por noche.

Do not stay here

Place was in very bad shape. When we got there, the toilet wasn’t working, the paint in the kitchen cabinets was peeling off and the door knob for the main door kept locking us in because it didn’t work half the time. There were also ants in the living room. Worst experience yet. Do not stay here.

We all booked condos and had a blast. Great location, great security and outstanding views. The pool area was clean and very relaxing. Everyone at the facility was very helpful and polite. I would most definitely recommend this place to all my friends looking for a great experience. Thanks to all the staff for a great vacation.

Don't rent this property. It's very rundown, no cleaning service, it's located next to a bar with live bands, and getting to sleep before 2am is impossible. No patio furniture.

Great view, spacious and on the beach. The pool was great and the gym was better than I expected. Good location 1 1/2 blocks from fifth avenue and 6 blocks from the ferry. The night club across the street was loud until midnight and locals congregated outside our window and partied until 7;00 AM. The property manager refused to be involved when our electricity stopped working. We had to call company that brokered the rental. Unacceptable. It’s too bad because it is a nice unit with two baths but I would not recommend it to others

Location, location, location!

We were displaced due to hurricane Delta. Luckily surf 207 was available on very short notice. Alberto Ramirez with Vancasa was very responsive and helpful. This is the 7th time we have stayed at El Faro, and we were again thrilled with it. The condo was beautiful, the pool is gorgeous, the location is second to none and the view is magnificent!

Great location and property

My husband and I spent 7 nights at El Faro - Beacon Surf 207. Pros: Great location on the beach. Close to shopping, bars, restaurants, bus stop, ferry to Cozumel, etc. Large pool with lounge chairs, tables, and umbrellas. Nice beach with lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas. Attentive security Large one bedroom condo with 2 full bathrooms, huge bed, ocean view balcony, 2 tv's, plenty of seating, glassware, dishes, pots/pans, ice trays, 5 gallon water jug, shampoo, body wash, etc. Portable bag chairs (although they are VERY rusty). Cons: No dispenser for the 5 gallon water jug. No patio furniture. Loud due to the bar, Zenzi, directly across the street from this unit (this really did not bother us, however, it is very loud with live music from 6 pm - midnight every night).

Excellent location and spacious apartment!

What worked: Loved the infinity pool, location: on the beach and one block from 5th ave with best restaurants and shopping, spacious apartment with well equipped kitchen and 2 baths, security 24 hrs which made it feel safe. Walmart and local grocery store is walking distance, just 5 min by car which is very convenient. We stayed for 6 days and got maid service in the middle of the week which was very appreciated. What didnt work: Booking this apt on homeaway site was a hassle. Checkin was hard as well, we reached apt but the hospitality desk could not locate our reservation. Once Alberto came, he was able to check us in and give us a tour. He was very helpful. We were a family of 4, the sofa bed in living room didnt work as well. There are 2 big windows on both sides of sofa bed which dont have curtains and street light streams in throughout the night. Please add the light blocking curtains in living room just like bedroom, that will take care of the problem. Alberto helped block some light with temporary blinds in parts of door/window which helped a bit for next few days. Kids had rough time sleeping for first few days since restaurant/bar next door is open till 2am and 24-30th Dec is a busy time with music and loud noises. Ant problems in bathroom and kitchen. You will have to pay $15/night extra for parking if you are renting a car. Totally loved our stay!! Will come back again.
