A hotel that used to be nice.

The suites are big and nice view on the sea front. The overall furniture is used and not in good condition. The bed and mattress though very good. Bathroom and installations very old. The hallways to rooms need maintenance and not clean. Breakfast was perfect, however all in all Not acceptable for a 450USD a night hotel.

Fantastic Beachfront Hotel

Stayed at Marina All Suites for 4 nights. My first time in Rio & the hotel was very helpful about how to get around & what to know. Highlights: - Location is fantastic! On the beach, in Leblon - shopping, restaurants, beach - everything. - Boutique hotel with all the amenities. Pool on top floor. Top floor has a shower & change room - perfect when you take a red eye but can't check in in the AM. The breakfast was great - buffet style, fresh, healthy. - Rooms - Great, large rooms. We were 2 & each had our own twin beds. The beds were so comfortable - fluffy pillows, etc etc. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rio. They were so accommodating!

Istayed both in Leblon and Copacabana and Leblon is a much nicer area but not far away either.The hotel staff were both professional and warm.I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to others

Avoid if you can....

This hotel is badly in need of a remodel. The rooms and common area are all pretty shabby, the elevators are old and slow, and the reception is run down. We asked to change rooms and were given a smaller room at the same price, but at least it didn't small as bad!

Great location, 'dated' hotel!

When we arrived we were informed that our room access would be delayed by a few hours. The front desk did keep us informed until we were able to move into the room. We had to have the air conditioning units serviced twice on two separate days. While at the 2nd floor bar, the ceiling began to leak water and we had to remove ourselves from the area. We were on the 12th floor and each evening we experienced an 'antiseptic smell' in our room. We think is was coming from the restaurant on the ground floor. It smelled like cleaning fluid was coming into the room via the air ducts. The last two evenings there was an ongoing 'drip' (noise) in our bedroom that lasted the entire evening and day. On our return from the beach we noticed water on the floor of the living room and had to have the air conditioner serviced once more.

Great Hotel on Leblon

Marina Suites is a nice hotel located across the street from the Leblon Beach and very close to all of the nice restaurants in town. The staff was super friendly and helped us with arrangements for everything from airport transport, to shopping recommendations, to restaurant bookings tours, etc. They even send a nice bottle of champagne to the room for my wife's birthday. The room we had was very spacious with an ocean view. The only disappointments were the fact that the room didn't have a balcony and the pool area as a bit small. We had a couple of minor issues with the room (shower drain and A/C), but the maintenance came to fix everything straight away. Staff at the hotel bar was also great and the place was very busy on Friday and Saturday night with a great crowd. Overall, this was a great experience.

BRAZIL ALWAYS TWICE TOO EXPENSIVE

The hotel is in one of the best location of Rio de Janeiro... but should we pay so expensive (370 US$, WITHOUT breakfast !!!) ONLY because of that? It drove me crazy to see that none of the money we are spending is invested in the rooms or furniture or decoration. Everything looks RUN OUT: A/C units from the 80´s or 90´s (very noisy), electrical plugs from the same age (some of them going out from their socket), batheroom furniture and door with the wood lamina peeling off, chairs at the desk that had been broken and repaired with the cheapest screws, coffee table made of glass which fell on my feet and almost cut me very dangerously (I was lucky on this one), etc... It is obvious that the owners keep all the money we spend for themselves and do not re-invest anthing in the hotel... Eevn the restaurant/bar on the 1st floor used to be a trendy place and is now empty and sad... Breakfast Buffet was at the minimum acceptable and was charged 30 US$! Internet was soooo slow (" Mega) and was charged 20 US$ / day!! EVERYTHING was giving you the impression of having been ripped off and this is not what you expect when you go to a hotel... The sad thing is that Rio de Janeiro does not offer any very good alternative... although one can find very good hotels and service for 400 US$ anywhere in the world, in Brazil you have the worst...

Cool location

We loved our stay at the Marina All Suites Hotel. It was part of our trip around Brazil for our joint 50th Birthday year, and we spend 4 days in Rio. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful in making our stay enjoyable - bell boys, concierge, restaurant - and the quality and size of the room was great. The views of Leblon beach were exceptional - what a great view to wake up to! The location is very safe, has great shops and restaurants, and the taxis are not too expensive to get to some of the other sights of Rio.

Bad Services and conditions

Internet access wasn't working and was without wireless connection during 4 nights, room air conditioning broke, Hotel lobby without air conditioning, elevator broken, I got even stuck inside and had to come down walking 18 floors!! Room decoration is old and tacky, old bathroom doors, shower dor opens the wrong way.

The suite facing the ocean was spacious but the suites on the side facing Bartolomeu Mitre are chopped up with only a side view of the ocean . And the traffic on Bartolomeu Mitre is 24/7 . Room service prices were high and the portions small . The restaurant is also pricey . The service is excellent and the reception personnel is efficient and friendly . I moved to the Caesar Park Ipanema which is a better location with more restaurants within walking range . For the same price I'd rather stay at the Caesar Park !

Excellent view at excellent location

The hotel is right on the beach of Leblon. We had the suite with the windows to the front so we could see the whole beach and far into the sea. The location is great and within walking distance of the heart of Leblon with all its shops, cafes, and restaurants. The hotel offers a "beach" service and provides towels, chairs, and beach umbrellas right in front of the hotel at no additional costs. The suite was large and very nice, clean, and quiet (with windows closed). The only negative point was the breakfast. The hotel includes many things on the menu but many things weren't available. For example, the salmon was probably out and on the first day we were told it's just out of the freezer and could not be served yet, but there was no salmon during the whole time of our stay. The food they actually served was very nice, though. We would go there again!
