Far from the maddening crowds.

Even though this house was out of the way it was comfortable, spacious and provided us with a serene space after each day of sight seeing and travel in both Umbria and Tuscany. It was just what we were looking for to accomodate our family group and we enjoyed many good times. The siting of the apartment was a plus as we were able to witness beautiful sunrises and sunsets from our eyrie.

a very cold holiday

In our recent stay we enjoyed great hospitality from Mrs. Maria Grazia; always available for any of our problems. The location is fantastic! ... about 650 meters high and with a breathtaking view. Unfortunately there are also some things that are not so nice ... we found the wardrobes in the bedrooms very dirty and the floors were not very clean. A piece of advice, do not rent the house in winter!!! the windows do not close well and this makes the house a freezer. We had to buy wood to light the fireplace and spend all our time in the living room where there is the fireplace, dressed in hats and scarves because the cold was unbearable. I think that summer is the right time for a holiday in this house.

Tolles Erlebnis im Herzen Umbriens

Das Anwesen einer Jahrhunderte alten Verteidigungsanlage liegt auf einem Hügel inmitten des ursprünglichen italienischen Kernlands an der Grenze zwischen der Toskana und Umbrien. Die Wohnung liegt inmitten dieser Anlage und ist in rustikalem Stil angelegt, jedoch in einem guten Zustand (insbesondere die Küche und die 3 Bäder). Die erste Anfahrt war nicht ganz einfach (ca 10 Minuten steil bergauf mit geteerten aber teilweise kaputten Straßen), da je nach Navi der Ort richtig gefunden wurde oder nicht (vom Vermieter wurden daher die GPS Koordinaten angegeben, die in jedem Fall funktioniert haben)! Schließlich wird man mit einem atemberaubenden Ausblick belohnt der bis nach Perugia und dem Lago Trasimeno reicht. Weiterer Vorteil: aufgrund der Höhe ist es insbesondere in der Nacht deutlich milder und es gab in der Wohnung keine Mücken. Die Wohnung war sauber und es gab nichts zu beanstanden (Waschmaschine und Trockner sind im Innenhof vorhanden, sodass man hier sehr gut versorgt ist). Die auf dem Anwesen vorhandene Kirche garantiert ein unvergessliches Lost-Place Erlebnis. Die Lage erlaubt Besuche um Tavernelle (ca 15 min entfernt, mit Supermärkten, den Lago Trasimeno (ca 35 min entfernt), Perugia (ca. 45 min bis zum Zentrum entfernt) und Assisi. Ohne Auto geht es allerdings nicht. Der nächstgelegene Bahnhof in Chiusi erlaubt eine Anbindung und kurze Besuche nach Florenz und Rom (ca 1.45 h nach Termini). Um unsere Fragen und als Ansprechpartnerin vor Ort hat sich Grazia gekümmert, der wir sehr dankbar sind für dieses tolle Erlebnis! Ingesamt ein paar unvergessliche Tage inmitten von Oliven und Mandelbäumen, in einer sehr ursprünglichen aber Wunderschönen Gegend fernab des Massentourismus und der Hektik des Stadtlebens.
