The hotel was beautiful, with the add Christmas feel. We stayed for one night, for a visit to Burghley House Christmas Market, it was perfect location. Dinner and breakfast was good, however a little expensive. The room was warm, cost and had all amenities needed. The only complaint, was the bed was a little hard. We would definitely recommend a visit to the Haycock Hotel.

Gorgeous time at the hotel for a wedding (PA system improvement definitely needed in venue of marriage ceremony). Shower was great. Room was clean. Room amenities were good. Experience at breakfast was a bit disappointing. Pastries had run out by 9.15am. Incredibly long wait for hot breakfast to arrive. Staff were friendly and helpful when asked for something, but undertrained to spot the obvious needs (incomplete resetting of tables, bringing hot drinks with no cups and then no milk).

This review is graded lower than a previous trip, based solely on the room we were given this time. A bit of mould in the bathroom, a window frame which had been repaired but not painted, a wall with the corner protector showing. Apparently, the room is in line for a paint job, 2 months ago we had a room in pristine condition hence we re-visited. Why allocate this room, when the hotel was not full?

Amazing hotel in all regards. Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely area, nice walks nearby, great hotel rooms and restaurants. Clean, very nicely furnished. Superb service from staff. Great food in the Hancock Kitchen (less formal of the 2 restaurants) - didn’t eat at the more formal one. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at for many many years. Encourage anyone to visit.
