I don't care what the bad reviews said, this is a cozy and welcoming place to spend a week in Pensacola. Clean, nice sized room, caring and friendly staff, beautiful renovation in an equally beautiful area of town. No questionable people hanging around. Safe and secure. The only real complaint i have is regarding the pool -- it was cloudy and had a strong chloramine smell, both indicators of inadequate sanitization. That's not the fault of the hotel, though, it's the fault of current commercial sanitization standards, plus I'm extremely picky about pools! You cant go wrong staying here!

Staff friendly and nice, a bit high priced for the room. Nice remodel to room. Bed frames are metal make for loud sound when bumped and you can hear it from other rooms also. No bugs, and rooms clean. Continental breakfast was pre packaged danish, juice, boiled eggs, toast, apples and cereal. Would like to have seen bananas, muffins and maybe bagels. Miss the old waffles they used to let you make. Elevators smelled and were dirty, area around pool smelled at some tables like rotten garbage (maybe from cans outside pool are), and needs more attention to cleaning the leaves, paper, hair etc. out of the pool itself. They offer free bottled water all hours at the front desk which is nice especially when it's hot.

I called when our flight was delayed I was reassured the room is paid for, it's yours no matter what time you arrive and she would pass the message to the late person. When we arrived they tried to give us a room with not enough beds. I refused. We were offered a second room on the other side of the complex to get us enough beds.

Pool reconstruction work at 730am on a Saturday was a little intrusive to a late morning sleep vut but the room was clean and staff nice and friendly.

I’m not sure how this place got such high reviews. We picked it because it was close to the historic area and wanted to take in some sights. The historic nearby area was where the positives stopped. Sink area was set up as an accommodation (low counter) but the bathroom was not, making it odd. Ceiling tile was shagging. Temperatures in the room was hard to regulate. The pillows were flat and the comforter had not been washed from a previous residents use. Use your imagination for what was on the comforter. Breakfast was minimal and the woman staffing the area sat in the corner with her headphones on and never acknowledged our presence.
