Wonderful Place To Stay

We had a wonderful time at the Diamond Willow Hideaway. Our family has vacationed in the Park Rapids/Nevis/Dorset area for many years but this was our first time on Big Sand Lake. The house itself is setup up and decorated so beautifully. The one level living space and no major steps to get to the lake/dock area made it very accessible for both young and old in our party. The lake water was so clear! We enjoyed sunrises, sunsets, kayaking, pontoon rides, and catching some perch and bass right off the dock! Various wildlife including; swans, loons, ducks, eagles, squirrels,various other birds and chipmunks kept us entertained throughout our week stay. The location makes it easy to head off on mini day trips if one wants to venture away, but there are enough water toys, games, puzzles and other things to do right at the lake home if you choose to simply stay at the lake. Jane and Glenn were great hosts. Always quick to reply to any questions or concerns. Check-in and Check-out were both easy! Thank you for sharing your place with our family. We made some wonderful family memories during our stay.

Amazing!

This property is amazing! The location is very private and on a great swimming lake. We enjoyed the cabin's close proximity to the delicious restaurants in Dorset. This cabin is beautifully decorated and has two very nicely updated bathrooms. It had everything we needed. We would definitely stay at this cabin again!

AMAZING!! Secluded and peaceful. Perfect vacation hideaway!

I don't know where to start - Diamond Willow Hideaway is absolutely FANTASTIC!! We are SO blessed to find this jewel and the availability we wanted. Property owners pay attention to detail and really care about what they offer to renters. Was wonderful to have a stocked house - from beach towels, towels, pans, silverware, bedding, CDs, games, you name it! LOVED having a yard that was level with the lake - no steep stairs to venture down, and was large! The massive deck was also amazing - loved having 4 sliding doors with access to sitting outside - and you got a GREAT view of the lake! We rented the pontoon which was FANTASTIC! Thank you for that investment! We used the lily pad, games, life jackets, paddle boards, kayaks, paddle boat, grill, firepit (and the s'mores welcome kit) and the drying rack is a brilliant idea! The dock is the nicest one we've ever had - and was great having a boat lift for the boat we brought. Most importantly, it was QUIET and SECLUDED - no neighbors which is exactly what we want when going on a MN vacation. The paved driveway was also great - and nieces used it to roller blade down :) Again, I can't say enough how great this place is and the property owners. Highly recommended and we cannot wait for next year!

Great Cabin Experience

We have been renting cabins as a family for 20+ years and this was one of our favorites. The cabin had plenty of room for our large group, was very clean and well maintained. The property is nice and private and the beach area was nice for our small children to play and swim. The pontoon rental was great as well. We would definitely return to the property for future vacations.

Wonderful place!

Just finished our 2nd 4th of July week here in a row. Lovely area, everything so clean, so many amenities provided in house and for outdoors. Rented pontoon and family had a wonderful time. Would recommend in a heartbeat for a fabulous, relaxed vacation.

Family Vacation

Second time renting Diamond Willow Hideaway, we love the seclusion and the clear water, sunrise and sunsets. Thanks for the new updates, pontoon, lily pad and drying rack!! Weather was great and fishing was good on the last day. We will be back again 😊

Great Family Vacation Spot

We were blessed with really nice weather for the weekend so we were able to use all the water toys - there are many. The kids loved the lily pad, the older kid and adults loved the paddle boards and kayaks and the 91 year old loved the pontoon. The chipmunk wasn't shy about eating nuts off his table no matter how much commotion was going on around him. On the one rainy afternoon we went to Park Rapids and visited the candy shops and those that stayed back played board games. Great big level yard was used for numerous yard games and just little ones running around. The cabin itself was well stocked and modern. Plenty of wood for campfires and the weather was perfect. No one wanted to go home when the long weekend was over. This is been by far our best VRBO experience.

Great hideaway

We had a fabulous time at this location. It was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. There were 7 of us and there were 'real' beds for everyone, plenty of towels, blankets, etc. The kayaks, paddle board and paddle boat were put to good use. The weather was ideal and we enjoyed sitting outside watching the chipmunk come and eat his peanuts.

Perfect Family Get Away!

This is one of the best properties we have had the privelage of using through VRBO. Everything that we had hoped for and more! The beach was perfect for the kids. The adults enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks. The lake was clear and great for fishing. And the cabin was simply outstanding, clean and well appointed ... beds were comfortable, the deck was great for early morning coffee and late night star gazing. And Jane was great to work with, 5 stars isn't a high enough rating for this wonderful property.

Great time

Great Overall Experience

We had a wide range from adults to infants. Sandy beach was a great area for kids to play and experience the water. Backyard gave adults plenty of room to play yards games. Backyard decks were spacious and gave beautiful views of scenic Big Sand Lake.

Fantastic Summer Trip

Not only was this location the perfect spot for a private beach getaway, the house is gorgeous and has everything! It is stocked with yard games, boats, marshmallow roasters...literally everything you could want or need as a guest. (We had more than a few bags that didn’t even get unloaded because they had everything we needed). The beach is perfect for young kids, and the lack itself is gorgeous and crystal clear. Jane (property manager) was communicative and helpful prior to our stay and throughout our trip. We are already looking into available space for next year. Thanks for a great family summer vacation!

Beautiful cabin!

It's rare to say a place looks better in person than the pictures depicted, but that was our experience with this rental. The master bath has been beautifully remodeled, the beds were comfortable, our kids loved the kayak and paddle boat, everything was wonderful! Definitely looking to make this an annual trip!

As expected and more

We loved our stay! Very impressed! The owners really thought of everything-house and garage were stocked with pretty much all we needed for a great stay at the lake. The place was very clean and comfortable for us 5 adults and 2 kids. Quiet and secluded location. Crystal clear lake water and sandy swimming area my kids loved, the lily pad was a hit. We would definitely recommend this place to family and friends and would stay again.
