Loved our family stay!

An amazing stay with stellar service! Phil at the front desk was friendly, professional, and made a somewhat complicated situation turn out for the best. Loved our room with a stunning view of Parliament Hill. Enjoyed lunch on the terrace overlooking Parliament and the Rideau canal, and the coffee at the Cafe was excellent. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The location could not have been more perfect. I wish we could have stayed longer and can’t wait to go back again sometime.

Really disappointed overall in this stay. Booked for a business trip and felt like I was staying at any run of the mill hotel. No nice welcoming check in, waited for almost an hour for my bags to arrive to my room..no one brought them so I had to get them myself. Room was dirty, old and less than impressive. Food sat in the hallway from room service my entire stay, there was flies flying around it so clearly no one is doing floor rounds. Then before 7am there was loud banging of bottles and I go out to see what’s going on and it’s two hotel employees emptying garbages with glass water bottled clanking. Very disappointing in the entire “experience”.

The Fairmont staff were wonderful and so attentive. Location was great for Canada Day festivities. The room service food was delicious and a highlight of our stay. The pool was very nice. No issues with the room. I’m only giving three stars due to the valet/parking/check-in situation. It was complete chaos. There are not enough parking spots for guests, no organization at the loading zone, and a very long and slow line to check in. It was very frustrating and, based on other reviews, seems to be a longstanding problem. Please note this hotel charges for wifi like it’s still the 90’s.

Property was clean, and quiet, close to the park. The bathroom was a little small, bed comfy. Air quality could be improved, smelled a little industrial at times. Highly suggest the weekend buffet brunch, although small, it was my picky eaters favourite throughout our entire trip (Ottawa and Quebec).
