Most uncomfortable and stressful vacation ever
The ac was not working upon checkin, room and freezer reaked of a fish odor and only 1 lamp in in the unit had a good bulb. I don't know how cleaning crew didn't notice the smell or feel the heat. Trying to get response from anyone was almost impossible! Some days 3 messages before anyone responded, usually to say it would be fixed that day but it wouldn't be. The room was sweltering, not a cool respite after a day in the sun and very hard to get ready to go out, too uncomfortable to sleep well and impossible to cook, just too hot. AC repaired on 3rd day but didn't last, quit after 12 hours. My husband was told to defrost it and put towels down for mess on first night.Had to throw away foods put in freezer due to odor absorption. Went and bought cleaner, room deodorizer and odor absorber for the freezer ourselves. After a few days they put some baking soda in the freezer and brought light bulbs.On 4th day got some fans.Couldn't enjoy view because certains had to stay closed to keep out heat from the sun.Response from management team was limited and very brisque.Finally new ac on day 5. Have requested a refund of nightly rate for the first 5 days. They asked us what we thought would be fair and that seems fair. Now we wait. They have to look at their notes and submit a request and will get back with me. Hopefully with what we asked for so we can put this whole experience behins us.
