Casa Palopó was easily one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at! The staff were welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. They booked us tuktuks to travel around, and allowed us to preorder breakfast and take it early on the day we left. Each time we came back to our room, they had been in to tidy up and leave us a little gift! The hotel and grounds are gorgeous, and the views of Lake Atitlan are breathtaking. The hotel is a short walk from Santa Catarina Palopó, a beautiful Guatemalan town which felt authentic and friendly. We did find that it was easier to eat dinner at the hotel in the evenings, as it got dark very early and we did not want to walk back along the road from the town. It is very much a hideaway, perfect if you are looking for rest and escape. There are activities available at the hotel too, and a wonderful pool and jacuzzi at the villa in the grounds. The decor is truly beautiful, and everything is finished to an excellent standard. Thank you so much for a perfect stay.

We have stayed at the hotel -prepandemia- in several ocassions. This time we got hold of the only room option available in the newer building above the main hotel, problem was too many stairs, which make it dependable on shuttle runs to reach dining options within the hotel.... walking up the hill to our room is risky for anyone not in good shape/health....also there are no hand rails, hence posing addionatl risk of falling. I did like the excellent service from all the staff, always ready to help and assist ieven on nonhotel matters. The newer part, once solved the issue mentioned above should provide a good choice for staying in the future, is quite, nice pool and jaccuzzi and good spacious rooms.

First time visitor. Our room had a beautiful view. It was a very relaxing location. Everyone was beyond professional and accommodating. We did have an issue with our room AC unit which leaking water from a clogged drain line... they were prompt to address and gave us a remedy. We were there for an overnight stay otherwise I may have asked for another room. The weather was cooler and refreshing so the AC at that moment was not a big deal. Thank you to all the staff at Casa Palopo.

This is an outstanding property, One of the best that I have stayed in the world. The front desk staff, housekeeping staff, the sous chef, the wait staff, the turndown service staff, the staff that takes you to the hen farm, the views from their 2nd restaurant, beautifully decorated Kinnik - all possible because of their outstanding staff. The complimentary meditation kit, the french press, the kayak- all adds to the pleasantness of the stay. The beautifully decorated room A must visit if you are in Lake Atitlan. I will go back again!. Casa Palopo is an experience. THANK YOU Casa Palopo Staff.

Stunning property. The restaurant is where burger goes gourmet. The staff excellento. I came to celebrate what would have been my ma's 84th birthday and her 5th sunset day. For 5 years , I have been in so much pain, Casa Palopo, the magic that is Lake Atitlan, it's unassuming staff, was the balm to my uncountable bruise

Loved my stay here, comfortable and clean. I did get sick when I ate at the restaurant both times. Also the guy at the front desk that spoke English as well was rude. Whenever he would be assisting me, he would be helping others at the same time. Whenever I came to the front desk and he was helping someone else he didn’t even speak to me. When I checked out, he didn’t even say thank you or anything. At the price you pay for this hotel you expect the customer service to be on point. Besides him, it was a good stay.
