Close to places of interest

The hotel was nice. Hotel staff were pleasant. Breakfast was expensive at $17 and you serve yourself. If you don’t need a handicapped room, my suggestion would be to request a non- handicapped room. My bathroom floor was wet every time I used the shower.

Quick and Easy

Checked in for less than 12 hours just to sleep. Front desk staff was friendly. A little tricky to find a parking space that we had to pay for because the lot was almost full. Room was clean and beds were comfy.

Late summer trip

We like to stay here because it is a good location for direct access to the freeway and very quick to good food around Berkeley.

Offered % off our room

We were offered a 50% off our hotel because of all of the construction and help noises early in the morning! Maranda was the front desk manager and Louie and Jeremy helped out with this transaction. Being on vacation and waking up at 9 AM too loud hammering noises from the 12 floor when we stayed on the seventh floor. It sounded like it was coming from right next door to our room. We were never told about this when we pre-paid our room months in advance. I think we should've been compensated for our entire stay. I will definitely be calling the hotel or the customer service number and also doing a Yelp review! I sure would appreciate a call from the hotel to rectify the situation!

did not honor my request to be in a quiet location away from elevators. Gave us a room right next to the elevator, then when we changed, they moved us to the freeway side of the building. So noisy, didn't sleep all night.

Comfortable hotel

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, staff was friendly... my only real complaint was the heater system. When arriving the room was fridged so I quickly tried to turn the heater to 70, mind you the outside temp was in the low 40's. That solved the issue for that night, but after being gone the entire next day and arriving back to the room at about 9pm the next night the room was once again freezing. I am assuming the cleaning staff just turns off the heat, this makes sense for much of the year but at this time the room was 48 degrees according the wall thermostat. I try to turn on the heat once again but this time it doesn't seem to be heating the room up. Eventually I find that the window was left open by whomever cleaned the room that day. I believe this hotel needs to adjusted their policy relating to the heater considering the room temperature gets nearly as cold as the outside weather. Its pretty miserable thinking your going to come inside from the nearly freezing outside temp to a comfortable hotel room to find that you need to strip down and warm yourself in the shower because the room itself is so cold. For a holiday weekend I should have spent the extra money to stay at one of the hotels across the highway.

A beautiful and spotless hotel in nice location

Pros: The food, the staff.
Cons: How about, fix the curtains, the fridge, and put a strip on the bottom of the door to stop the light so people can sleep
The staff was exceptional, the food was fantastic and so was the restaurant staff. The hotel was immaculate and spotless and well designed. However, the hotel curtains do not block the light, so you CANNOT sleep in the dark as the room is flooded with light from the bay ALL NIGHT LONG, and the in room refrigerator motor sounds like a B-52 engine. Also, you have to park in a tiny convoluted space to register, and then trudge out to move your car again. Also, no one at this "business hotel" knows how to fix the printer in the business center.

Very small room, no bathroom fan, expensive, but n

Pros: Staff was very helpful, common areas of hotel were clean and well kept.
Cons: Install bathroom fans.
The room was very small, but did include a desk, refrigerator, and little food prep./snack counter area. The absence of a bathroom fan was not really acceptable, especially at over $250.00/night. Rooms service/food was good and the hotel staff was very helpful.
