Check-in was smooth, but our room key didn’t work when we reached the room. Maintenance tried to fix it while we waited inside, but after nearly an hour — and two follow-ups with the front desk — it still wasn’t resolved. With no clear communication on timing, we had to return to reception to request a new room. Manager Hardy handled the situation professionally, upgrading us and offering 10% off dinner, which we appreciated.
Unfortunately, dinner didn’t live up to expectations. It was marketed as a Japanese Emperor-themed experience and looked beautiful, but the food was average. Our snapper arrived undercooked, and although it was remade, it affected the overall experience. To make matters worse, water started dripping from the ceiling onto our table, forcing us to move.
While the hotel itself is beautiful, the repeated disappointments — including an underwhelming breakfast each day — made the overall stay frustrating, and we’re unlikely to return.
