I paid in advance for a room, the indoor pool, and free breakfast. Not at any time was I told there would be NO pool or breakfast because of Covid virus. I felt like I was lied to and charged for things that were indeed not provided once I arrived at the hotel. PLUS, they insisted on having my credit card number to charge me an additional $20 for incidentals! I was ALREADY charged for things they had no intention of providing as promised and now they want even more money?? Not a way to run a business in my book. I must say the young lady that checked me out the next morning was very kind and gave excelnt customer service and is an assit to the company.

Hotel is long overdue for a refurbishment I rarely complain about the state of something but The room was old and dirty bordering on nasty The desk in the room was sticky when you rested your arms on it Carpet dirty etc Halls the same and the elevator I would not stay there again

Pros: Cleanliness and courteous staff.
Cons: There is a brochure in the room about the bistro that states that their coffee is available all day but it was not.
Location: It was a good location for our purposes. There were many places to eat and shop nearby.
All of the staff we encountered were helpful and courteous. The room was clean and the hotel was pretty quiet. I had thought when I made the reservation that breakfast was included but it was not. They had a bistro where food was available for purchase. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

OK for a Quick Stay

We stayed 1 overnight. It's a fine location for a quick stay. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. The hotel lobby was busy. There is a small pool right off the lobby that kids enjoy but that results in a high traffic area and pools of water on the floor. The hallway floors needed to be vacuumed more regularly. We were put on the second floor and there was considerable bumping coming from upstairs. We requested a wake up call for 7 am; we did not receive the wake up call.

Overpriced and underwhelmed

Pros: Seeing it in my rear view mirror.
Cons: Charge rates that reflect what you provide which is not much.
Location: The location is fine and there are many things to do near by such as shopping and staying out of the hotel.
Booking a room at this hotel was a mistake. Unfortunately, there was a large event in town which made options limited so we were stuck with this very disappointing place. The rates charged did not reflect anywhere near the product delivered. For what we received, perhaps $79.00 per night would have been appropriate. For example, no complimentary continental breakfast, listening to the housekeeping staff bad mouthing guests, kleenex tissue dispenser almost empty, no vending machines, wi-fi did not work reliably, mildew in the showers and on and on. Bottom line, I will not stay here again and hope that time and distance will remove the memory of this experience.

It all worked out in the end

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Our reservation had been dropped, as apparently even though you are flying from Alaska through Atlanta and on to the Norfolk area, if your plane is delayed first to mechanical problems then weather, and I had made the reservation months in advance on a credit card they could charge...they dropped our reservation. We were coming into town for military training and that was noted in our reservtion and were very tired and did not appreciate the initiative Marriot took to just drop our reservation. They did however put us in a room, that was not adequate for the number of people, but worked and the next day moved us to our reserved room. We travel often and have had delays before and this is twice Marriot has done this and no other hotel have I ever had to tell what time I would be coming for arrival. This I was very disappointed in. Marriot did accomocate us and that was appreciated and we did get the correct room the next day, and that was appreciated. We were flying and could not use the phone and during our delay I was on the phone trying to make different flight arrangements and then back in the air. I understand that you need to fill rooms and may have people who do not show up for reservations, but most major up scale hotels have in their policy that your card is automatically charged for one night if you do not show up or cancel within a given time. I assumed Marriot fell under this catagory, I will be sure next time to make it clear we do not know our arrival but we are coming. I appreciate them accomodating us the best they could though. It was clean, and very nice and we would stay again next time we are in the area.

Maid cleaning not what I expected

Front desk was fantastic, but minor ( but often ) overlooks on house cleaning was evident. I would not stay there again for the price I paid.

you don't get much for the money

was there to be close to my elderly mother with my kids for a few days over spring break. the location was great movie theater,shopping,resturants all within sight. the beach is within 30 min. and we went to Sandbridge a more rustic beach about 45min. lots to do but I thought it was very expensive for what you get Breakfast is not free $7.95 I think. Mixed emotions after 3 night stay.

Nice Typical Courtyard

convenient stop heading towards the Outer Banks. Room was very clean, NEW beds were great (females will like all of the pillows), bathroom clean with good water pressure. Breakfast was a good buffet. Complimentary USA Today. Friendly Staff.
