Room was dirty and bed was sooo uncomfortable the mattress was stiff and rock hard. the blankets were not enough for the cold weather, definitely bring your own blankets. I recommend if you are barely in your room and don’t expect much. We tried to refund but they absolutely do no refunds even if you don’t stay the whole trip. Cash only should’ve been my warning.

We chose this hotel because the price was right. However, I do not recommend to anyone for the following reasons: no elevator, you have to carry your suitcases upstairs. There is no security, the hotel is open 24 hours and the front desk doesn’t check who walks in. The rooms are cold, only heated by a small plug-in heater. There was no hot water, and the sinks were leaking every time you turned the faucet on. Also there are no tissues, no dresser or drawers, and when we asked for an extra blanket, they brought one that had four or five holes in it. On the plus side the location is wonderful, it’s right next-door to a wonderful bagel café/pizza place that has a great variety of foods and is open 24 hours and just a couple of blocks away from a CVS and a Wegmans and subway station. All in all I would never go here again. As they say, you’ll get what you pay for.

The staff at St. Marks Hotel was very friendly and we did read the description, amenities and reviews before we booked. We could only get a room with two twin beds and the beds did not have fitted sheets, only flat sheets. After day two we started smelling cigarette smoke coming from another room late at night. We did cut our stay short due to a change in travel plans, but if you need an affordable lodging option and don’t mind stairs, I would recommend St. Marks hotel. The location is really good and if you can catch
