***BEWARE***We recently stayed at the Historic Streetcar Inn New Orleans while spending a couple days in New Orleans waiting to depart on a Cruise for our daughters Wedding. Now I “get” the New Orleans “Historic Charm” but was beyond that! Just plain dirty. Our first room had some sort of something splashed all over the walls and not even cleaned up. Coffee? Soda? etc. Gross. The tub was so dirty it looked like something you would see in a junk yard being thrown out. When we complained to the front desk Angie changed us til a different room. Ok! Great!...Not so much! Room was a bit more comfortable and to our liking. Didn’t even mind that it took is 15 to figure out how to fix/get the tv to work. Front Desk...no help. Still ok! At least until we wanted to take a HOT shower. No hot water in the shower at all! On our way out that morning we stopped by the Front Desk around 11:00 am to see what they had to say. After we woke up the Attendant (yes, he was sound asleep on the desk) he said he would check with Management and see what they would do. Upon Check Out the next day after another day with no hot water we were informed that there would be no further action taken since we were already given a free upgrade! WE WERE GIVEN A FREE UPGRADE because the first room was filthy. When I asked him why we were expected to settle for a Free Upgrade and then be satisfied with no hot water his response was “You should have read the reviews!” Running out of room for review...

I was fortunate to not get the room that doesn't have a window (does that even meet fire code???). However, there was a tropical storm that first night and I had a room at the front of the building (upstairs) that had a small balcony, access to which was through a door in the hall just outside of my room. The next morning there were leaves on my hotel room floor that had somehow blown in during the night (no, my window was not open), as well as in the hall. I finally figured out that the door to the balcony was a swinging door without a latch, so must have blown open repeatedly during the night. Those same leaves were still there (both in my room and in the hall) 3 days later since no-one had bothered to vacuum in between. My room had the bed made up the first day after my arrival, but for the rest of my stay (I arrived on a Friday evening, left on Tuesday morning), there was no room service. My bed was comfortable enough, and there was a fridge in the room as well as a TV, blow dryer, iron and ironing board, and shampoo, body lotion and hair conditioner. In a lounge on the main floor there was daily coffee/tea as well as a microwave and places to sit. The décor is quite shabby but overall leaning toward clean. The shower curtain smelled moldy and was stained yellow on the bottom. Overall, the hotel felt a bit like a dump but since I was attending a conference and wasn't there much during the day, it was adequate.

I knew we were going to a old building, and with that I knew the bathroom and rooms would be dated. It was a beautiful old building. With that said, the bed was so used that it had a huge drip in the middle. The bathroom shower head just dripped water(they were able to change this out) and we had a vine that grew through a crack in the windowsill and went down the wall. We also could not get a key to our room and had to get someone to unlock our door each time we wanted in. There is no parking so you have to park on a side street. If the put a little money in the hotel it could be awesome.

My issues with this place are dirty stains on white towels; dusty lamps; previous occupants' food left in refrigerator; refrigerator is so loud that it was hard to stay asleep; half a roll of tissue to use; remote to televion didn't work; and no phone to call guest services to report all of these issues directly to staff. Never again will I stay here. Just aweful.

The historic streetcar in was a convenient place to stay. That being said, the bathrooms are old and they need to be updated and cleaned properly. The Front desk staff was fairly helpful and pleasant. The price was fair and that would make the place OK

Hotel room without a window was a first. Room was small. Neighborhood was, um, off the beaten path. Like, far from everything. And kind of sketchy. But the staff was very friendly.

the staff was very nice but the hotel IS old and has problems. Our room had no window so it was rather like being in a cave. They are working on improvements (new ownership) The location was fine. At this time we would not go back.

Good location, beautiful neighborhood with lots of options for music, food and drinks inside or outside- Lyft to Canal St $7, street car pick up outside hotel to canal street $1.25. Takes less than 10 min. Or walk part of the way since there's plenty to see/do in between. Bathrooms could use a good soak and scrub to get the scum off. Some recaulking too. I asked for a good scrub of the tub but it didnt happen. They did unclog the drain for me though. Wall paper was peeling. It was cheap. I felt safe and I got to use fresh sheets and towels.

Great location

For the price $53/night, not a bad place. Very old, needs updating. Staff was pleasant and accomodating. We requested a room with refrigerato, fridge was broken in first room and room was so small you had to climb on the bed to put anything in the closet....the front desk attendant put us in another room which was much larger & so was the fridge. Cleanliness was just so so....shower drain was clogged. Website states breakfast is an amentity....there is no breakfast. There are a couple of vending machines available. Overall, not a bad stay for 3 nights. Location is amazing, great places to eat surrounding the inn, streetcar stops right out front. We would stay again. But from, past reviews....it's hit or miss depending on what room you get.
