The hotel advertises itself as a “top notch” resort when in reality it’s no more than the average Days Inn stay but with a hitch…no breakfast, no late check out on Sundays, pillows are half the size of a normal pillow, no staff at the front desk after a certain time, old beat up furniture, no air conditioning in the elevator, etc.. in other words, you pay $300+/nightly in July for the beach access that’s just across the road. I usually stay at the Wyndham on ocean blvd in N. Myrtle beach and this place could never hold a candle to that property. It’s a tourist trap and I’ll never stay again nor will I refer to others. Shame on you Cabana Shores!!!

Perfect location. Not fancy, but a great view of the ocean, nice pool area, nice little bar area in the lobby. Wished it had restaurant open. Staff communication could be better. And it would be nice if you could get the room cleaned during the stay, rather than having to hand towels and garbage through the door. But the location and price make up for any shortcomings.

The hotel is smaller. Nice little bar at front desk. Pool area was clean and well maintained. 100 ft from beach walkway and sand shower. Only thing I disliked is the food ads that were left stuck in my door each morning. Overall I would stay there again. For the money, well worth the rate charged.

Clean Hotel close to the beach

No complaints, clean hotel friendly staff,close to the beach (with lifeguard if that is important). The only thing negative that comes to mind is as with all beach front properties maintenance tends to be lagging (stained chairs, broken baseboard, chipped table, hard time closing the door, and slow elevator)

Great little affordable find

Beds very comfy, room had some cosmetic issues with prior water leak - assume from a.c. on floor above. Not a deal breaker. Elevator on the other hand, only one, very old, slow, small and hot. Definitely needs an upgrade, but overall would stay again.

I would not recommend. I mean, i guess you get what you pay for. 5 days/4 nights, room wasn't cleaned a single time. I had to ask for replacrment bath towels and toilet paper. Couldn't utilize the balcony at all as there was water dripping continuously from the unit above. Safe in the room didn't work. Asked for a late checkout, worker at the counter immediately said no without even looking in the computer. I believe the person at the desk also doubled as the bartender because there was never anyone there working. Never saw anyone eating at the restaurant either.

We have stayed here before and it was 10/10. This time, our room had a few opportunities for improvement….the shower floor was crack and had an actual hole in it. The ceiling in the actual room looks as though it had previously had a leak, the patch job was an eyesore and wasn’t done very well. Someone just slapped some plaster up there and called it a day. The door didnt lock and we had to bother the associate downstairs to come and show us how to fix it. I wouldn’t pay $300 to stay there again- if every room was as nice as the first time we stayed here, maybe.

The room was super clean and the staff were very hospitable. My only complaint is that, my wife and I made a reservation and paid for an Ocean Front room. We were given an Ocean Front room but, the hotel is facing front, (ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE BEACH!) Also, all of the Ocean Front rooms are directly over the pool.
