The room was spacious, decorated in a relaxing zen-like theme, and comfortable, with a distant view of the ocean from our 2nd floor porch. We enjoyed the gas log fireplace. The best thing was the delightful breakfast (4 choices each day) that was brought to our room in a basket each morning. The staff people were all very kind and helpful, and gave us chocolate chip cookies when we arrived. The bathroom had nice amenities, including the most wonderful smelling, locally made lavender soap. The hotel is only a few blocks from Ocean Avenue, which is the main thorofare in Carmel. We will stay here again!

We had such a wonderful time at Tradewinds. The staff made our time so enjoyable. The room was super clean and close to everything you’d want to see or do in Carmel. We’ll be back!

We booked a room with a fireplace but when we got there they said that wasn't a guarantee and we got a room with a balcony instead. We also were sitting by the fire pit at 10pm Saturday night and they came it shut it off even though the office was open till 11. We will definitely pick a different place next visit.

Everything was great. It was a little warm in the room, and there was no A/C. I am sure most people don’t need it, but it would have been nice. There was a portable fan that helped. Otherwise a great place, and would stay there again.

very quite and tasteful. There is no microwave as advertised, you need to take the food to the reception and request them to heat, which they readily did. No freshly prepared breakfast - packed croissants, butter, fruit, coffee juice delivered to the room in a basket.

The property was very peaceful and clean. There’s no AC but many hotels don’t in that area anyway. Plus it’s winter right now. If you’re on the second floor, usually rooms with views are, there are no elevators. Also, there is no water filter so you have to go to the office to refill water bottles, the place is a bit dated, and there is no gym here in case that’s something you can’t vacation from. Breakfast options sounded lacking but after we ate it, we thought it was delicious and quite filling. We wanted a peaceful getaway and that’s exactly what we got. Carmel by the sea is such a beautiful city and this hotel is no exception.

My family and I had a great time at Tradewinds hotel in Carmel. Location is very convenient, in the heart of Carmel. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are very spacious and some have a beautiful view. Everything is very clean and very well maintained.

Perfect Carmel spot

Lovely spot, clean, comfy, great location. Loved the design, great stay! Breakfast is a bit below average, but I loved that they deliver to your room. Only bummer is they charge you for water, but loved everything else.
