The amazing staff were nothing but accommodating! Asked for an upgrade and the hotelier Allison was phenomenal accommodating our requests. We told them it was our honeymoon and they brought us glasses, champagne, and chocolate, as well as a card with coupons for recommended local amenities. Both the historic part of the hotel and the new part of the hotel are charming!

The historic room was great! Very comfortable and the location was within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and places to see. Valet parking was worth the extra charge, they always brought the car promptly. All of the staff were great!

The people working were nice and pleasant But the bed was not the best and the room got very warm and stuffy during the night even with one window open. I woke up a few times due to this. While it is historic it is also worn and not in a historic way. I am not likely to return and would go back to staying at my usual hotels I stay at in Monterey

Great location in the Downtown area, only a block from the Convention Center and near lots of shops and restaurants. I have stayed here many times over the years. I enjoy the ambiance of a well-maintained Victorian building, decor and antiques. This visit I was given a room near the elevator, and it was handicapped accessible with ADA bathroom. Not a great vibe for me personally, but this would be perfect for those who require accessibility. Comfortable bed and an assortment of pillows. I'll definitely stay again in the future.

The photos on the website aren’t true representation of the condition of the hotel . It’s a historic hotel so we like the decor and the atmosphere that it gives . However, furnishings and hotel itself are older that is not evident in photos . If you keep that in mind, you will enjoy your stay . Excellent location because it’s a short walk to downtown , old Fishermans wharf and canary row . Lots of restaurants nearby . Parking is easy. Overall, would recommend but know that it’s an older property

It's quaint and old, but the room was clean. It's definitely loud at night but otherwise ok for sleep. Not a place I'd want to hang out in all day. Convenient to everything in Monterey!
