Elegantly perched on eight and a half acres of stunning tropical gardens atop a hill this luxury Jamaican villa rental is a grand six-bedroom private villa distinguished by its beautiful classic architecture.

If you love Venice with its palatial residences but you also can’t get enough of the easygoing Caribbean lifestyle, then Bambu is the place for you with its heart in Italy and its feet firmly planted on this beautiful Caribbean Island.

Originally designed in the 1960s by Robert Hartley, this incredible Italian inspired villa which has been recently renovated is stunningly elegant. There are wonderful touches such as Palladian arches, a dramatic central swimming pool with Italian sculptures all surrounded by some of the most beautiful gardens in the world. These are overseen by Sam the very talented gardener who has created a lush and lavish tropical paradise with natural stone pathways that wind through the gardens to lots of hidden nooks, crannies and terraces to enjoy the incredible view or just enjoy some quiet time.

There are multiple dining areas to enjoy many located to take advantage of the incredible views. Breakfast on the river is a marvelous way to start the day. Cocktails on the terrace over the bay and dinner in the gazebo feature one of the most beautiful night-time light show in the world.

Wireless Internet, Apple television, new marble bathrooms and a state-of-the-art kitchen complement lovely new interiors. Today its modern comforts and infrastructure mesh with Bambu’s original Italian charm and glamour. As designer Charles Faudree wrote when it was featured on the cover of Veranda magazine, Bambu is the “….blending Old World elegance with New World comforts.” Its newest folly is an open-air garden shower and bathtub outside a small hideaway bedroom downhill from the main house ... with a nine-mile view across Montego Bay.

With handicap access in mind, a separate entrance designed especially for guests in wheelchairs features a ramp to a level entrance to the villa, avoiding all stairs. The Bambu pool features a broad 4" deep wheelchair platform as well. This shallow water platform is also a thoughtful, safe pool area for toddlers.

If you've left your pets at home while you're on vacation, be advised that Bambu is home to three affectionate Mastiff pups. At your preference, they may be allowed to roam the grounds and come in to play with the guests or be kept in their large, open-air kennel.

STAFF: The team of five, led by the head butler will look after you’re every need and will help make this your home from home. Picnics on the beach, swimming with turtles, candlelit dinners in the gazebo, cocktails by the pool, and quiet afternoons reading a book are all part of the Bambu experience.

Bambu offers a membership to the Tryall Club. For all guests with arrival of December 1, 2018, an additional Temporary Membership Fee of US$26 per person per day plus a 15% service charge for any guest 16 years and older will be required. Payment will be made at the Front Desk in the Great House upon arrival.
