To start - the hotel is beautiful. Everything is clean, modern, and functional.
The room was nicely appointed and the beds were very comfortable. I brought my dog and upon check-in she received a cute little bag with treats, a toy, and some poop bags. Check-in and getting to the room was a breeze.
A few things that are still getting worked out:
1. In my shower I had two body wash containers and no shampoo. It might be helpful to color code the bottles so it's easier to know that you have one of each.
2. They have a restaurant in the hotel that has some of the best food in Hastings. However, they don't seem to have room service figured out yet. I pressed the "room service" button on the phone which took me to the front desk. I was then transferred to the kitchen, who didn't seem to know what to do either and almost sent me back to the desk. It eventually got worked out and I was able to have food delivered to my room - which I would say was just OK.
3. Be diligent if you book your hotel through a 3rd party. I paid for my room through Expedia and I was charged again through the hotel. Luckily I watch my transactions closely and was able to catch it the next day.
4. Lastly - I completely understand paying upwards of $200/night in the summer when downtown is buzzing and the weather is nice. But for sub-zero, middle of January with no pool, extra amenities, or breakfast included, it is definitely overpriced.
