Overall a great mini vacation. Inside was very clean and all necessities provided. Outside had not had its spring cleaning or maintenance yet. A little bit of spraying with the hose and wiping down and we could still use solo stove/chairs and furniture on the upper deck. Loved the kayaks and paddle boards and teenagers really enjoyed the basement with all its entertainment. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect lake view, house had everything we needed. House is huge and has a big playroom with games for all ages. We love it and would love to comeback!

Family spring break at the lake

Our family had a wonderful spring break at Lake Anna. The house is clean and extremely well equipped. Our kids especially had a great time. There are so many fun things for the kids to do at the house.

Beautiful Quiet Friendly Location

Loved everything about the home its location was secluded with a country lake atmosphere. Neighbors were very friendly & welcoming absolutely beautiful scenery .. Our family plans to return next year !!

Fantastic home by the lake

We very much enjoyed the multiple different places to relax both inside and out all around the property. The games in the basement are a great addition and it's easy to find something for someone of all ages to do!

Better than the Pictures!

Wow! What an amazing place. We were so thankful to find this home available last minute when we had a water leak in our house and we needed somewhere to go for Christmas. Very clean, lots of space, and great amenities.

Fantastic 4th of July!

We got this house for the 4th of July holiday with our family. The house is well thought out and has helpful notes throughout. The Wifi is a necessity while in the area. Lake Anna is awful for service. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the basement space when we weren't on the water. House is decorated lovely and was very calming to be in or on the deck. We wish we had more time there!

AMAZING!

We really enjoyed our stay at Poppy’s Playhouse, the house was very spacious and nicely decorated with beautiful lake views! The basement playroom/gym was an added bonus with so many fun things to do! The outdoor space was really nice too and we used both the gas grill and the pizza ovens. The boathouse area provided welcome shade from the hot weather and all the kayaks, paddle boards, and floats were perfect for our family, we loved all being out on the lake together! We would definitely recommend this house to others and hope to return in the future!!!

Great location. Quiet and peaceful evenings overlooking Lake Anna

The location was quiet and peaceful with minimal ambient light. Perfect place to sit outside on the deck and unwind. The house has plenty of room for a family or group of friends just getting together at the lake. 2 1/2 baths are perfect. Bedrooms are comfortable and well appointed. Be mindful of 2 things… there is limited cell phone service at this property and the driveway is fairly long and doesn’t leave much room for turning around near the house. Recommendations are set up WiFi immediately upon arrival and consider backing down the driveway if you have a truck or larger SUV. Highly recommend this rental!

Okay property

This property was okay. It wasn’t as clean as it should have been and was definitely showing signs of wear and tare. It has a dock and lake access but doesn’t necessarily have Great Lake views from the house and where the dock is located is very shallow. One definitely wouldn’t want to swim off the dock. The kitchen is well equipped.

Made for families with older children

The house is nice and there is plenty of room to spread out but the house is not designed for families with kids. Basement stairs are very steep and the top floor has loft feel that is open. If you have teen agers or adult children this is perfect. We stayed in fall so did not use boat house or swim in the lake

Amazing weekend! We can’t wait to return!

We just enjoyed an incredible, relaxing weekend at this property. We had four adults and five children ranging from 3 to 13 years old. There was something for everyone to do and my only regret is that we didn’t have more time to spend there. The house is extremely spacious and comfortable, very clean and bedrooms and bathrooms were great. There was more than enough space to accommodate the nine of us. Kitchen is well appointed, which is great, because we ate all of our meals at home! There is a gas grill, smoker, and even two woodburning pizza ovens! Activities included an excursion to Lake Anna Beach, a short drive away, as well as direct access to the lake from the backyard. The property is very well equipped with water sports activities. We took out the two person and one person kayaks, and there are also SUPs. Life jackets were readily available. We paddled out to the lake, but also spent a lot of time hanging out in the little Cove by the house, which was lovely. We caught a catfish and some sunfish right off of the dock, too! At night, we lit a fire in the solo stove, and made some s’mores. The kids also enjoyed playing in the basement, which is essentially a giant rec room with ping pong, air hockey, basketball shooting game, and some video games. One really nice thing about staying here is its proximity to a large grocery store. Of course, we ended up having to run out to grab various items that we had forgotten to pack and it was not a big deal. One tip: Cellular service is very spotty out there, so until you jump onto the Wi-Fi, you will not be able to communicate well. Recommend saving or screenshotting check-in instructions prior to arrival. Overall, we had an exceptional stay here, and will definitely return to this property in the future. Highly recommend.

The good, bad, and ugly

The house was spacious and met our needs for the most part. We enjoyed the large hangout areas and spacious breakfast eating are. The bad...upon our arrival we noticed a broken window that had been covered with card board. We reported to management right away but nothing was done about it. This property is NOT handicap or elderly friendly. The walk to the doc is very steep and stoned path slides under your feet. They kayas and paddle boards are inflatable and we were only able to get one to hold air consistently. There was only 1 bike on the property to use and it had a flat tire. Contacting property management is difficult. The well quit working around 10pm our first night and getting a hold of anyone to fix it was difficult. Thankfully it was fixed after 15 hours. The UGLY... The overall condition of the house was dirty. There was dog food on the floor in the breakfast area from the previous renter. The coffee pot was very difficult to use and there was mold in the bottom drain try. The washer smelled of mold so bad it made you sick. And when you have a family member allergic to mold this is bad. When we went to use the pullout sofa it was so dirty we closed it back up and used an air mattress. The light fixtures had cobwebs on them and the window sills are caked in dirt. The basement had some fun games but only a couple of light bulbs that worked and you had to run extension cords all over the basement causing tripping hazards. It also hadn't been swept in the corners.
