This house is a 2 story apartment. This listing is for the 2nd floor apt only. This floor has 2 bedrooms with a queen bed in one and 2 bunk beds in the other room (twin over full bunks). Sleeper sofa in the living room (not shown in pics as has not been delivered yet). Linens and towels are not provided. (Cleaning company can rent linens for an additional fee. Inquire if interested). Gorgeous views of the bay from living room, dining room, sun porch and back deck. Also beautiful views of the wildlife preserve from the front deck. Open floor plan which makes it look a lot bigger than the pictures. Fire place for winter intimacy. Sun porch for dolphin watching!!. " . Outside shower to rinse off when returning from the beach!! Many people enjoy fishing here!!! WiFi and Cable available. Kitchen is fully stocked with the exception of a conventional oven and dishwasher. Alternative forms of cooking readily available: Microwave, stove top, crock pot, "wolfgang" pressure oven and a grill on the back deck. Conservation Wildlife Refuge view from front of the house and a quick walk out back to the beach. Quiet, quaint small town with corner store for your convenience. (Closed during winter months). Entire place is freshly painted and renovated as of Oct 2021.

The constant question I get is "how close to the beach" is the house located. Well it is literally a 2 minute walk out the back door.

What more could you want or ask for while on vaca?!?!? Come visit!!!

Our host, Donna, was very nice and provided prompt and detailed information prior to our stay. The property and surrounding neighborhood is really nice and quiet. We particularly enjoyed the close proximity to the beach (in one direction) and to the national wildlife refuge (in the other direction). Close to groceries, restaurants and historical sites as well.

Steps to the beach. The house was clean and spacious. Donna was a helpful, accomodating host. The porch had a lovely view of the ocean that we enjoyed every evening. The beach was quiet and peaceful. The Broadkill store is a walkable half mile away. Restaurants are a short drive. We had a very good stay.

Wonderful stay! Pictures don’t do this justice - so big lots of space. Spotless and clean. Kitchen cabinets had everything labeled as well as light switches which was so helpful. Beautiful private beach - lots of wildlife (crabs, jellyfish). Owner supplied beach chairs, umbrellas, baby tent, beach toys and a wagon. Amazing sunrise and sunsets. Property manager on site on above floor which isn’t mentioned. Very helpful and responsive though. Stores are a quick drive away. Cute beach shop with subs/pizza/icecream within walking distance. Pet friendly :) Will likely stay here again!!!

Very clean condo right on the beach. Literally walk from backyard to the water.

Perfect place. Very clean. Very well stocked. Even had an air fryer! 4 stars only because the beds were terrible. The queen bed in the master does have the mattress topper, but it was so creaky that it was impossible to sleep well. I do not know if it was the box spraying or the frame itself, but every single motion produced such loud sounds that it was impossible to sleep. The bunk beds were also very old and squeaky. The mattresses were old and uncomfortable. Donna was the most gracious host. She even let us stay later than our checkout time. The place would truly be five stars if it wasn't for the beds.

A hidden gem!

This could not have been more of a perfect stay. Donna is very kind, and went above and beyond to accommodate us during our stay! The rental was clean, and well-equipped with almost everything we could possibly need while we were there. The beach was peaceful and private, and we saw all kinds of sea life, birds, and even a red fox! Sitting on the balcony when not on the beach was very relaxing and quiet. The rental is so close to the beach that we could make several trips in one day! We left feeling very refreshed, this private beach vibe was exactly what we needed. Will 100% be booking here again! Highly recommend!

you literally cannot do better than this for a damily beach vacation! snap it up if you can!

i'm not sure any review I could write would do this lovely property justice! we visit the beach in DE every year. i am disabled& find freedom in the water that i don't have on land; i can spin my kids in a circle, jump w/them, chase them in the water. it's a lot of fun. the beach was literally just steps from our back door. close enough that i could handle multiple trips per day. the view was unparalleled, as was the quiet of the private beach. it never got truly 'busy'. the sunrises were sublime. I could walk to the water &watch there, or I could watch from the balcony outside. you can see the water from the house. we saw so much cool wildlife, too - migratory shorebirds, sanderlings, flounder, spotted smooth-hound, jellyfish, squid, mole crabs, horseshoe crabs,& at least two other species of crab. the house was lovely, comfortable, clean, & modern. it had the perfect amount of space for our crew of 5. our host, Donna, was amazing - gracious, generous, easygoing, helpful,& always quick to respond to my texts if i had a question. she even allowed my family to visit the beach out back one last time after checking out, even allowing us to use the outdoor shower& shed to wash off& change before leaving town. we're hoping to return! if Donna allows it, we'll return every summer! if this place is available for the dates you want - i suggest you snap it up as quickly as you can!

Our family vacation was wonderful and relaxing from the moment I made the reservation to the moment we, sadly, checked out. Donna and I corresponded several times between making the reservation and checking in so I knew exactly what to expect upon arrival. She greeted us and took us on a walk through of the property inside and out. The home was exactly like the pictures posted online and everything, except bath towels (which I was aware of), was provided. It was great to have a full kitchen so we could make our own meals. There were beach supplies, including chairs, umbrella and fishing rods, for guests to use and the beach was a few yards from the house. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our vacation!

Great location - no frills condo at decent price

The condo was a very short walk to beach which was not crowded and really nice.. The condo itself would probably best be described as economy grade. The facilities are clean and useable but dated. Bigger concern was that it lacks common amenities which are generally expected in a vacation beach rental. The listing is honest.. but we made assumptions which were not correct. On the 2nd floor unit there is no washer/dryer. No dishwasher. And the only oven, is a countertop unit which is basically a large toaster oven. There is a range. For a very short stay 2-3d, this was not a huge inconvenience.. for anything more.. not having ability to wash towels at a beach would be a burden. The isolation of this beach and house from restaurants is appealing, but makes the kitchen deficiencies more problematic.

So Peaceful

I had stayed at this rental a few times in the past and it still does not disappoint!!! It is very peaceful and quiet and the view of the ocean from the balcony and the kitchen nook is exceptional! Check in was easy, communication with the owner was great, and it's only a short ride to shops, restaurants, grocery store, and other beaches. I highly recommend!!! :)

The building is kept. Things are clean and tidy. Location is good. View is good. Cannot walk to the beach due to large 10' sand dune in front. Had to use access to public beach. Kind of tough for older people. So, 1 day at beach. Manager was responsive. Did use the elevator which works.

Noisiest vacation at the most secluded location

The second floor unit was comfortable to stay at but unfortunately due to the pet friendly status there is no carpeting and having guest staying in the unit above was so noisy. We were forced to live by their wake up schedule of 6:30 am. Dogs running back and forth barking and kids pounding toys on the floor. It would be best to carpet the 3rd floor and just clean them when needed. I feel guests would have a better stay. Unfortunately two buildings were also being built on both sides of the house. I wish that information was disclosed so I could have made an informed decision about where to spend my summer of 22 vacation. The owner was accommadating and easy to communicate with.

Our host listed the property accurately. She gave very detailed instructions for accessing the property and what we needed to bring. She was also quick to respond to any questions we had. We had great access to the beach and it was not crowded, something we like when going to the beach. Make sure you bring bug spray, though! An added bonus is the nature preserve! Definitely would stay again.

Won't be Visting Broadkill Again

The property was great, just as expected. The communication with the Host was easy and she got back very quickly. I would recommend people to stay here if you are looking for great views of the bay or a place to stay if you are going to go do other things in the area. However, the beach was absolutely terrible. The water had a ton of Jellyfish in it, which our group got stung multiple times. The beach had so many Horse flies it was next to impossible to avoid getting bit. Even bug spray didnt help! We left with a ton of bites on all of us. There is also alot of regular flies that tend to get into the house each time you open the door. There are sharks, which one can expect. A group near us were fishing and kept catching baby sharks. After the first two days of our 7 night stay we decided to go to Rehoboth Beach on the Ocean side of Delaware and that was amazing. No Horse flies or Jellyfish and the boardwalk was fun. It is a 40 minute drive or more depending on traffic. We were hoping to just have a nice relaxing time not having to leave the property or the beach because we were right on the water, however as stated above we were not able to do that and that's why we would not stay here again.

Beautiful spot

We fit perfectly in this house with me and my 4 kids and my girlfriend and her daughter…so 2 adults and 5 kids. The location was beautiful and close to the beach that has no real waves (ideal with kids). It was quiet and beautiful. Not far from downtown when we wanted to go swim in the waves or shop/get dinner. Close enough to everything but far enough that we got great family time and quiet in the evenings. Property had everything we needed and the owner was available if I needed anything. Also- note that the property has an elevator, which is amazing if you are planning to bring an older adult or someone with a disability. We are planning to bring grandma for the next trip.

Undersold!

Pictures do not due this property justice! The sliding glass door opens to a long outdoor deck which overlooks the bay allowing gorgeous sunrise views. The amenities were off the chart - every type of utinsel, dish, pot, pan, cup and cooking device you could ever need. The gas grill on the outdoor deck was a great addition. Clean, comfortable, cold A/C and very pet friendly. The bay was great for calm water swimming. If you want bigger waves (my son did) Rehoboth is a short 20 minute jaunt down the road. What's not to like?
