The property is overall quite dark. That matters if your renter is older. Though most of the kitchen was clean, the stove/oven was not. The doors to the deck need maintenance. The one on the right is particularly difficult to open or lock. Though the space in the living area isn’t nearly as large as the online photos suggest, it is adequate, however, the coaches have suffered from a great deal of use and dont provide adequate support. The trash cans could not be found on the property so we had to bring out trash back with us. In addition, we couldn’t locate any trash bags. Fortunately, we had brought some with us, but I am not sure that the online information makes it clear that you need to bring your own. Though we love Bayshore Drive and want to return; we will probably try to find another listing for our next year’s visit.

Rented the property before. The kitchen is well-equipped, beds are comfortable. There is direct access to the beach and a great variety of birds! (oh, yeah, well, and flies if the wind is from the west). Both the owner and rental company are responsive.Would recommend.

Relaxing/Quiet Beach

Reminded me of the Outer Banks. Beach nice and quiet with plenty of room for beach activities. Able to take the dog. House quaint and costal. Only bad things; two bedrooms are not private, open at the top, needed drain cleaner for the water to drain out of tub. Also, water was shut off one day from 10am to 4pm.

Gorgeous house, great location

Overall the house was great. It was perfect for two couples and had everything we needed with direct access to the beach. A few little things though kept me from giving 5 stars. The walls are VERY thin. You will absolutely hear everything in the other rooms. Ahead of our stay, the property manager was quick to respond however once we arrived we could not get an answer either via email or phone call to the number provided. There is a lower level where the washer/dryer was that was locked. We asked how to access but never heard back. As we were leaving we found a key on the floor marked as laundry. This definitely should be put somewhere better for folks to see and use. The deck also is in need of repair. There are a lot of places where the screws are not flush or boards are broken/splintered and you will cut your feet. Overall I would recommend this house but be advised.

Sucluded Beach Property

Very clean property steps away to a sucluded beach. There is no parking or access to beach other than those staying here. Broadkill store does make good pizza. House has all your amenities. I would go back in a heartbeat

Great beach house

Only couple minor things when we arrived. Living room rug had couple threadbare spots Broken board outside shower and previous trash not picked up. But the place is an awesome beach house We would definitely rent this place again next year.

Comfortablebeach cottage

Overall, we were pleased with our stay. The cottage is right on the bay, though it's a bit of a walk across the dunes to get to the beach. It's cozy, modern, and clean. It's obvious that the owner take good care of the home. It's attractive and well maintained inside and out. The bedrooms are very small with just enough room for a queen bed in two of them and a set of bunk beds in the third. But the common area is large and open and the kitchen is well equipped. However, the check-in process is rather cumbersome. You have to seek out a lock box to get the keys to the house and it is not easy to find. If not for a knowledgeable customer at the nearby Broadkill Market I wouldn'thave found it. The house itself is advertised as sleeping eight and 1-1/2 bathrooms, both of which are misleading. Though you could technically sleep eight people, two would be sleeping on a fold out sofa in the common area. And all would be sharing the single small bathroom, The half bath is in the basement of the house, accessible only from outside, and consists of a toilet sitting in the middle of a dark unfinished space next to the washer and dryer, with no privacy whatsoever. That is not a half bath. IMO,the house is prefect for a couple with or without two or three young children. A larger party would be more comfortable in a larger house.

Peaceful getaway

Disappointed

After year and a half of being apart, because of covid, our small extended family decided to spend a short beach vacation together. I paid premium price for the beach front rental. And sadly, I was really disappointed with the house. I knew it wasn't brand new or renovated. But, it felt like the owners did not care about renters. There was dust and hair in corners of the room, dark mold in tub grout, and dog food was still in the bowl AND we were greeted in the kitchen with a disgusting long fly trap with dead flies stuck to it. I would love to share my photos if I could on VRBO. Couple of annoying things... house is low, so even if it was beach front, your view of the ocean is blocked by grass and sand dune. Plus, the house has annoying motion detecting lights that came on and off all night (it was windy night). I couldn't even enjoy the stars because of the blinding light. The pathway to the beach has overgrown grass (ticks) and prickly thistles that attaches to your shoes & clothes (and into the house). The check-in list required renters to bring a long list of things including toilet paper, but didn't mention that it should be septic friendly. These are all easy fixes IF the owners cared about being good hostess. Definitely not renting this house again.

We had a pretty nice stay at this house on broadkill beach

Checking in was convenient and the house was lovely. Although upon arrival we had to clean dog hair from the freezer, furniture, and decorations. The upstairs bathroom was not very clean, and the down stairs bathroom had to be cleared of dirt/sand, spiderwebs, and spiders. When cleaning for checkout, the vacuum cleaners were full of dog hair and the wheels fell off of one of them. Aside from cleaning issues the house was very nice and we had a good time. Also the location and surrounding area is very nice.

Wonderful house on a great stretch of beach

This is a great house for our small family to spend time together walking on the beach, visiting Lewis, or going to Rehoboth, It's only 2 bedrooms, but has a spacious living area and more than enough deck space. Broadkill Beach is a quiet area with few people on the beach, lots of crabs, and quite a few on-beach vehicle fishing (mostly at the middle and end of island). This is our 4th visit to this house and we will likely return again next year. There have been a number of nice updates to the house this year.

Needed Vacation

We are a family of 4 plus a dog.. We really enjoyed our stay. The place turned out cozier and better than we expected. The updated living room & kitchen furniture made the place more open. It was comfortable. The bunk bed mattress are your typically thin mattresses (could use an upgrade). The two queen beds were very firm. Mattress firmness is a personal preference so I won't say that it is good or bad. The TV is a smart TV and had pretty much all the current streaming services. Log in and enjoy all the shows. We binged on "The Mandalorian" series! The beach was quiet and clean. The whole vacation was just what our family needed. Besides the bunk bed mattress improvement, I would suggest the cleaning service do a more thorough job on checking the cleanliness of the dishes. The coffee pot did not look like it was cleaned and some cups did not look thoroughly cleaned. Overall, we would return to this rental.
