Very Loud: Avoid if your no

Pros: Nice rooms.
We stayed here in mid-March. On both nights, we were kept-up by loud bass from a nightclub one block over. The bass was loud enough at times where the windows would shake. I complained to the night staff both nights, and the staff were unable to resolve the issue (they didn't seem to have the training or knowledge to do handle it successfully). I complained to the manager. The manager comped our parking and promised to give us a complimentary stay at the hotel, unfortunately, we never received it. I would stay away if you're not planning on clubbing in South Beach.

Needs improvement

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: needs refreshing and fine tuning.
This hotel needs a redo and it is a shame if it isn't done because it has potential. It has the feel of a European small hotel, but it seems to be going through growing pains. It appears the owners seem to be putting two hotels together into one unit but the hotel staff states that they are extremely slow to even do the little things. One wonders if they are actually paying as they go and that is why things are unfinished. Even what was most likely a pretty foyer, for one part of the hotel, has tiles missing in the marble floor. That couldn't be too expensive to fix and might prevent a customer from tripping into the missing tile space. When one goes from one building to the next, it is like going through an alley. You see the baking sheets of a wonderful restaurant that is linked to the building, although it has a separate owner. Once inside our living quarters, one felt like one was in a movie set of a worn hotel. Everything was clean, though, and the plumbing was very different than what one usually finds in hotels in the USA. It actually looked like expensive equipment, but it is something Americans will find very different. The place had a feel of a rustic, Italian and even Spanish feel. Even the dim lighting gives one the feel of being on a movie set. So it is interesting, but will most likely be disappointing to most guests. The price is too high, perhaps not for South Beach, but it does have potential. I just hope they don't take too long if they value the property. It could be charming.

It's ok, but I won't return

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
Calling the Impala an "elegant boutique hotel" is a bit of an overstatement. The staff was friendly and the room was ok. Definitely the kind of place you would only stay if you aren't spending a lot of time in the hotel, as there are pretty much no amenities (despite charging a daily "resort fee"). The website says there is free wifi, but it is only in the lobby. The biggest pros are that it is close to everything in South Beach, yet still very quiet.

Couldn't even unpack

Mold and mildew permeated the lobby and the room. Killed a roach in the alleyway that we had to cross to get to our room YES an alley was the only way out of the room. WORST HOTEL EVER!

Good Hotel. Great Location!!!

The hotel item is one of the smaller ones. There are not that many rooms so it is very quiet. I stayed here before but it was a Continental Inn back then. They have made several improvements since then. The bathroom is beautifully decorated with granite floors, modern sink, and tub. The room also has granite floors and a nice sized bed. The tv is an older tube tv, but who goes to Miami to watch tv! Next is the location. It is perfect. The hotel is on Collins Ave and is within walking distance to EVERYTHING. Ocean Drive is one block away and so is Washington Avenue. These are the only two streets you need to get to in South Beach. I was able to promote the equalizer shirts at all of the clubs on Washington Ave. This is a great hotel and I recommend it for short stays. Downsides to the hotel, you can only get WiFi in the lobby.

Just okay

The hotel was little and quiet. However it was quite outdated. There was a little TV (old), and they didn't have ESPN channel, which bummed my husband out. There are absolutely no vending machine, or snacks available (to purchase) on site. I was so thirsty one night, we had to leave the hotel and walk 2 blocks to buy a soda. Its a quiet little place to just sleep, which I thought $* bucks just to sleep was a bit much. The continental breakfast is kind of a joke, a little station with a few items laid out, we looked and kept moving.

Great find

This hotel is a gem. Despite being close to the action, it was pretty quiet through most of the nights I was there. The rooms are clean and the hotel is overall is maintained quite well. I stayed there in September and got the room for $* and there were less quality hotels charging more than twice that much. I scoured the internet reading all the ratings and finally settled on this one. You won't be disappointed!

Would definitely stay again!

Only a block from the hustle of Ocean Drive. Hotel was tucked away between a quaint restaurant and a hotel under construction - so a bit hard to find. First thoughts were "Oh no not next to construction!". To my surprise, the hotel was VERY quiet. I loved the room!! Stayed on 2nd floor at the end of the hall. I did a lot of research before booking and was very pleased with my everything about my stay. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend the hotel. My room was only $99/night thru travel website. This was a much better price than neighboring hotels.
