Aura on Flinders has a lot going for it, especially in terms of location. It’s very central and convenient, and the balcony view was a nice bonus. The unit itself was spacious, which made the stay comfortable. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. They even accommodated a 1-hour late check-out, which I really appreciated. The air conditioning worked fine, and both the smart TV and internet speed were good. On-site parking is available, which is a plus. That said, the condition of the room let the stay down. Cleanliness was an issue — there were candy wrappers under the bed, and the bathroom had mould. Several things were broken or not functioning properly, including the washing machine, dishwasher, and the kitchen tap knob. The shower drain was also very slow and occasionally overflowed, so I had to carefully adjust the water pressure just to avoid flooding the bathroom. Parking is another thing to be aware of. It uses a car lift and the spaces are extremely tight. You’ll need good manoeuvring skills, and I would not recommend parking a larger vehicle. Would I stay again? Maybe. Despite the room being in poor condition, the staff were very helpful, responsive to all my enquiries, and addressed everything I raised in a satisfactory manner. With better maintenance and cleaning, this place could be much better.
