We took my parents for a weekend on the lake to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Neither of my parents have ever been to Lake Chautauqua but I knew they would love it. Despite only being the very beginning of the season and the weather being really cold, our stay could not have been more special. The host was so helpful from the beginning, describing in detail the accessibility in and outside of the house, and responding immediately when I asked any questions. If you are looking for the best experience on the lake, this is the place to go. 180 degree views of the water from the entire living area made for amazing views of the nightly sunsets. The gas fireplace in the living room took the chill out of the air, the furniture was comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped, the beds were comfy and the showers were hot, the dining table made for epic games of cards in the evening, and the bedrooms are tucked nicely in the back of the house for quiet privacy.My husband and dad were excited to fish off the dock, as it was opening weekend for walleye, but we didn’t realize it was too early for the weed beds. It was too cold anyways, and just gives us an excuse to come back! It was also really nice to have a mud room off the front door as it kept the house warm and the bugs out.This was a perfect location to stay, allowing us to visit the Erie Wine trail and spend the day in Jamestown.
