Bula Spirt was nowhere to be seen. Owner clearly is sucking the place dry and not a cent spent on up keep. Food was really basic, trouble with over croweded boats and staff are very unhappy. Do yourself a favour and avoid. Very unpleasant stay, such a shame

We enjoyed our stay at Funky Fish where the flavoursome meals were included in the room fee! The bungalow was spacious, clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and accommodating arranging cheap boat transfers. We were right in front of our private beach and you could snorkel right there! The pool was a good size and the only downside was the wifi was broken during our stay.

Staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Room was clean. The premises were green and well maintained. The meals were delicious and drinks reasonably priced. The staff played music and sang upbeat songs every evening. The beach length was small but nice. The water was perfect for swimming. Their boat service was reliable and very low priced. Met several nice guests. Will definitely stay here next time. Highly recommend this resort!

We had a great time staying at the funky fish! Accommodation worked really well for our group of young students. We also really enjoyed the food, and the drinks selection was great too! There were some really fun activities on offer, and I would definitely encourage taking advantage of these- we really enjoyed going to Cloud 9 and having a day trip to Musket Cove!

Spent 3 nights. Staff was attentive and gracious. If you are looking for a laid back, low key get away, this could be it. It is somewhat isolated, access is only by boat.....if you want to go anywhere, you have to arrange a boat to take you there. Great weather while I was there

The resort was in an amazing spot and the staff were all very nice. It is a budget resort in close proximity to an amazing surf break . The sleeping quarters are very basic . Television and pool table in the common area .Budget resort good value.

My partner and I came here recently on a surf trip and absolutely LOVED it. We were warmly welcomed and recognized when we came back a week later. Loved the huts right on the water, the delicious homecooked meals, and the surf we could access via boat with ease. Super relaxing vibe, good price and community feel. We had a wonderful stay at Funky Fish Surf Resort and wanted to share what we loved about it. The resort is exactly as described – simple, laid back and authentic. The beachfront location is unbeatable, with easy access to world-class surf breaks and stunning views all day long. We really appreciated the home-cooked meals, the friendly local hospitality, and the relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at ease. It’s not a flashy resort, but that’s the charm – it offers an authentic Fijian experience rather than just another Instagram backdrop. It’s great value, especially compared to the high-end resorts nearby, and was perfect for us as travellers who wanted to enjoy the real Fiji: the surf, the sunsets, the tropical surroundings and the warm people. We left with beautiful memories and would recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine, affordable island experience.

It is a nice happy spot. Not pretentious and where many nice and easy going people gather. Malolo is also a beautiful island and from the property you can reach Mt Silo and have a stunning view. However, the food quality should be improved, including with some more local products/cuisine, and costs should be made clear and transparent, such as the 25FJD per person asked for a 1 minute boat ride from the Ferry to the resort.
