The Worst Experience
I recently stayed at a property listed on Vrbo and unfortunately, it did not meet expectations. The photos were misleading; the deck's paint was peeling, the walls were dingy, and the outdoor furniture was in poor condition.
While the surfaces in the unit were clean, there was a noticeable layer of dust, particularly on the dining room light, and a foul smell reminiscent of rotting trash permeated the entire house, especially in the kitchen.
Additionally, several light switches didn’t work, leaving some rooms dark. We had to move a lamp around, and there was a pile of unused extension cords just sitting in the corner.
The most concerning issue was the presence of cockroaches. We found them crawling on the counters and around the stove. When I reached out to Vacasa for assistance, I was given the runaround and my request to be relocated was downplayed. I was told it’s common for homes in the woods to have roaches, which felt dismissive of my concerns.
Overall, my experience was frustrating and disappointing. This unit looks beautiful in the photos but unfortunately is not well kept.
