I was confused by how to enter the hotel as it has 2 entrances side by side and one is locked and the other is open; however the doors arent connected by the walk way. When we arrived the staff refused to open the door regardless of the freezing temperatures outside. When we checked in staff provided conflicting information regarding parking and said they couldnt do it then applied the removal of parking charges. The room was okay clean and we found some spots not cleaned properly but the room was acceptable. Our major issue with the hotel was the location. Police responded to a high risk situation involving an individual with a firearm and once that situation dispersed we had loud banging on the walls with indviduals conversing loudly and not sure if it was related to the first issue. When it was reported to staff they didnt reassure us and didnt provide confidence they would resolve the issue. The second day the room wasnt refreshed and when we called for towels directly to the room, the staff seemed inconvenienced and didnt want to supply due to housekeeping being closed. Checkout was smooth and the rep was kind and informative. I expected more from this hotel as we have stayed at Sandman prior but this level of customer service was lacking and inconsistent which is unacceptable. As well the location is poor and security and safety should be paramount for stayers. Customers should have indication of the systems and features protecting them during their stay.
