Misled by the listing, not clean and ultimately disappointing
We had high hopes for this rental based on the listing, but unfortunately, it fell far short. The house was not clean on arrival, cobwebs, dirt, crumbs, used tissues in the couch, and dirty utensils in the kitchen drawers. The ceiling fan was filthy, and the fridge’s water/ice dispenser didn’t work.Beds were uncomfortable and squeaky, despite being advertised as very comfortable. Many pieces of furniture were damaged or worn, making the place feel more like a party house than a well-kept home.Privacy was also an issue. There was a door in the kitchen that clearly led to the owner’s side, and we could hear kids through it. That made us uncomfortable, especially since we booked specifically for private space. We also weren’t told that workers would be on-site doing foundation repairs (until the last minute) which added to the lack of privacy. On the last night, we discovered an ant infestation going from the living room to our dog’s food dish.The only real upside was the pool and hot tub.The owner placed a sticker on the fridge asking guests not to leave reviews under 4.7 stars before contacting him. I did, and instead of resolving the issues, he sent a dismissive response and offered just 100, less than a quarter of one night. Would not stay again.
