Family vacay

Our vacation was overall great I wish the unit had come with a beach umbrella to go along with the chairs. It was nice having all the amenities with the pool , towel locker and dukes . Only down side was how many cockroaches we found in the room which stressed me out with having a 5month old and roaches on the counter where I sterilize bottles .

Hokulani 637

The Honua Kai property is a great location & Unit 637 is a great studio with balcony. Both the studio & balcony provide ample room for 2 people. The entire balcony and room does not offer a 100% unobstructed ocean view but a solid partial view. The unit is super clean & quiet. It had everything in the kitchen we needed for our basic meal prep. We used the washer & dryer as well. Quite a few more kids and children on property than I remember which may be a pro or con. Huge bonus having Duke’s on property as well. Their food and service has definitely stepped up over the last 2 years. Love the VRBO option all the while having every amenity of a resort.

Really Beautiful Spot

The overall experience was really good! We loved the resort and the location. The condo was nice and had a lot of kitchen items to use. My only complaint is that it could have been cleaner. The bathroom needs a deep clean, mainly the shower. We did have a few bugs as well but we had a great time and really enjoyed it there!

Great getaway on the beach

Great studio with nice views. Stayed on property many many times over past 9 yrs. Very convenient to have Dukes on property, great service and food. Pools were beautiful. Didn’t see or talk to any staff except check in. Maybe would have been nice to have a check in call from rental company but no problems. Didn’t cook much as not there very long but would have been nice to have aluminum foil, ziplock bags ect. Stuff you hate to buy but could have come in handy! Beach essentials were a great feature. Upgrades to decor were very nice. The unit could use a paint job and a few bathroom upgrades, shower doors, better towels. Remove pink pillows on bed. You did tropical look they didn’t go just being picky! All in all great time here and enjoyed the condo! Did miss the coffee shop and store closing downstairs but went to other building for what we needed. The landscape flowers grounds ect were very nice but just a bit of an upgrade could make the grounds amazing!!

Amazing!

We loved everything about our stay at Honua Kai Hokulani 637. Everything was as described. Loved the ocean view lanai. Kids enjoyed the pools and easy access to the beach. We look forward to returning in the future!

Amazing views

The property has everything you will need on site. There are several pools and the beach is also there for your enjoyment. Every morning we were able to watch several whales swim in the ocean from our lanais while we enjoyed our breakfast. We have stayed at this facility several times. It never disappoints.

Just what we wanted!

H637 was the perfect location for us! Being tucked into the inner courtyard, we had views of the ocean, pool, families playing in the grassy area, and the sounds of live music each evening from Duke's. At this time of year, the sun was not hitting directly on the lanai, making it comfortable for sitting outside at all times of the day. The pools are spread out across the property so it never felt crowded. Loved the waterslide! The condo was clean and well-appointed but could use some extra lighting in the bathroom and a long mirror. After needing to cancel a trip in 2020, we were more than anxious to get back to Maui. Staying at Honua Kai was a perfect choice! Hope to return with the extended family next time.

Large resort feel, not for couples

Studio apartment was okay. Odd design with furniture layout. West facing. Was hard to sit outside in the evening with harsh sun. Overall the resort was well maintained and family friendly. The check in process was quite bad. After half an hour in line, the wrist key did not work. Not a good experience for tired families and kids. Did not use the pool or beach (very tiny) but enjoyed the walks along the paths. Restaurant service was okay. Long wait. As a couple would not recommend this resort.

Dreamy studio

Loved this studio as it had everything we needed. Great kitchen that was well stocked so we could cook, balcony with a great view for our meals, clean and well appointed. My only tiny complaint is that I wish they had better pillows and the body wash was out, other than that perfection.

We won’t stay anywhere lease but here! Love it.

We booked very last minute and had some serious covid hiccups. We arrived in Maui and our covid test was out of the 72 hours. We had to fly to Honolulu and wait overnight for results. We made it to Honua Kai and joyfully so! This is our second stay here and we plan to always come back.
