Kauai is beautiful, and we enjoyed wonderful family-time despite leaks in multiple rooms and no heat in the spa. The property mgr was contacted immediately about the spa, photos/videos sent of the rain leaking thru lanai door into the master bedroom-flooding the floor. Living room lanai door and a sealed window were also leaking, and water was dripping thru master bath ceiling. The property mgr said he would "see if he could get someone." The next day, he said put towels down, and he'd send someone. He delivered extra towels and texted "the known leak was fixed 6 months ago, but has been trying to talk the owners into replacing the old, known leaking roof for two years now". He said the roofer may not make it due to the rain-which was mostly during the night, as we had very sunny days on the beach (with dated photos). At 1 am on day 6, we were woken by the crashing down of the drywall ceiling in the master bath with gallons of smelly, moldy, nasty attic water onto the countertop, where makeup, jewelry, toiletries, fragrances, etc were all completely ruined. We again called the property mgr, who said he'd try to get out there the next day to look. Finally, a water/mold restoration company arrived to tear out the rotted ceiling drywall and cleanup, but the smell was AWFUL, as were the loud fans that ran the remainder of the stay. Photos/videos/mold and prop mgr prove the existing problem! A very small was offered -only covers some of the personal property loss.RUN!!!!
