Right on the beach.

Pros: Proximity to everything we wanted to see and do.
Cons: Older hotel. Large bathroom but no vanity to store anything and only two drawers in dresser. Also no microwave.
Location: very close to everything. Location was perfect for us. Very close to Smith family Luau and river cruise. Also Kapaa was only 2 miles down the road and
Hotel was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Centrally located, good price, good value. Has a restaurant, Lava Lava, right ON the beach with live music
Cons: The parking, unloading situation is strange-only one lane for both going in and out, the parking spaces in most areas were too narrow for the Ford Explorer we had.

It's definitely a budget hotel

Pros: The price, and location. The retro design was cute.
Cons: The beds and pillows where hard, and you could tell the rooms are getting a little bit run down.
Location: Perfect to explore the south side of Kauaii, or be near the airport.
It's cute and quant, but a no frills kind of place. There is a restaurant on the beach which is nice and tasty, but is a bit pricey. We referred to the hotel as the "motel 6 of Hawaii" If you want a bargin in Kauaii, this is your place. If you want luxury look to the Marriott.

Good value hotel close to the beach

Pros: Price of hotel in relationship to other nearby lodging and it was right on the beach.
Cons: Clean or replace the vents and fix the patio door. Place microwaves in the room instead of 1 per floor.
Location: Close to Lihue and right in the hub of activity of Kapa'a. Easy drive to the north and south end's of the island from the hotel.
Hotel was hard to find; no main street hotel signs and no road signs. Made a few comments and questions to staff at check-in; they didn't seem to care. Hotel has been recently renovated but they forgot to clean and/or replace the air vents. Also did not ensure the sliding patio door was operating correctly. We had to grab with both hands to close. The claim of ocean view for our room was a stretch. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable, the beach was close, and the onsite restaurant was good with a great atmosphere.

Small rooms but updated and clean

Pros: On the beach! Newly opened Lava Lava Beach Club is nice and has good food including a good happy hour. Central location close to everything in Kapa'a
Cons: Bathrooms are TINY. Bed is uncomfortable. Air conditioner is a wall unit that was loud and we only turned it on when we left the room.
Location: Many beaches and stores nearby.
Booked on short notice so there wasn't much available on the island. Hotel has recently been remodeled and is aesthetically pleasing. Pools are small but clean. Room was not impressive. Good location though, close to the airport, Kapa'a and centralized on the island for access to everything in an hour tops.

Nice hotel close 2 beach & near restraunts & Shops

Pros: Quite, clean, great staff.
Cons: Parking
Location: Location is near the beach, restraunts, shopping, surfing, snokeling, evening fire pit near the beach, safe for stolling day, noon and night. Loved it
Very nice hotel, rate reasonable, near shopping and restraunts, very quite, outside fire pit for those cool evenings near the beach continental breakfast. Would stay there again.

Nice place, very nice staff.

Pros: Loved everything about our stay. Loved the fire pit. Close to Safeway, great prices on ready made food.
Location: Bike riding along the ocean right out the door, beach chairs to use right in front of the hotel at the ocean's edge. Walk to town, lots of shopping.
Updated but still has a Sinatra vibe! Clean, very comfortable, very nice staff. Loved the free yoga right there at the edge of the ocean.

Absolutely loved this hotel!

Pros: The look and feel of the hotel (outside old and rooms very modern)
Cons: Balconies should have a thicker wall in between them (for safety and privacy reasons). Please don't charge a resort fee but have everything included.
Location: Kapaa is a lovely beach town with lots of cute restaurants, shops and beaches.
Stayed there for two nights and if it weren't that expensive (staying for a week it would add it pretty quickly!) I would definitely stay again. It was hard to find (there should be signs on the highway) but loved the location. It was a retro 70s feel on the outside (which I loved) but the rooms were super modern and pretty! I wish the balconies had more privacy in between them (not just a sort of curtain) but other than that, not much else to complain about. They give you a dvd card so you can rent movies during your stay! The beach located in front of the hotel is not the best to swim in (strong current and waves) but it was still nice to dip in a bit. Breakfast is not the best but you can't expect too much out of a continental breakfast (the bananas were a healthy touch to the donuts). Wish that they would include everything (wifi, parking, beach towels etc) in the overall price and not charge you the extra $15/day resort fee (why do hotels do that??!). Kapaa is a fun beach town with lots to do, see and buy!
