Needed a place to stay when I attended a concert at the prudential center and after an hour of reading reviews online I choose this place. This hotel is really nice, the rooms overlook a huge courtyard and there's even outside spots with tables and chairs. Everything was really clean looking, no stains on the carpet or walls, furniture wasn't old and beat up. Bathroom was immaculate, even had a jacuzzi tub. I slept like a baby. Definatley will go back when I attend another concert. Only problem I had was I asked for a late checkout of 12pm and the front desk didnt relay the messege to housekeeping so they came banging and ringing the phone at 11 for me to leave until I told her I was allowed to leave at noon.

If you don't mind the little things

Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were really comfortable and inviting! They just need to pay more attention to the details
Cons: Please see the main review
Location: Functional
This is a very nicely decorated and comforting looking hotel on the inside. The staff was super nice and accommodating. The room was clean and very comfortable but it fell short on the little things. I personally am at fault for not letting them know or giving them the opportunity to correct these items. First the little coffee pot in the room had cups and coffee along with the fix-ins sugar sweet n low etc. However there was no basket to put the coffee in and no pot to brew the coffee into. So no morning coffee until you could shower get dressed and go downstairs. Secondly I get up in the morning trying to get ready to go attend a seminar and I go to blow dry my hair and use the curling iron on it and the GFI outlet doesn't work. I tried to push the reset switch so I could use it and nothing. I tried to make do with the outlet by the bed but when it came time to use the curling iron there is no mirror situated so you can see from the side of the bed. Getting ready in the morning became a comedy of errors, especially since there was a time restraint because I had to be somewhere. Lastly the bathroom was very dated but let me tell you it was a great shower with tons of water pressure.

The hotel was a bit dreary and dark.

Bath and TV updated. Bed were comfortable but the rest of the hotel was dreary. Outside there were piles of rocks and a carpet was rolled up in the underneath garage. Was tempted to take a picture but just decided we would not stay again. This is the first time I was disappointed.

Very good hotel for the money.

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Quiet
I've stayed at this hotel three times now on trips to New York City. It's a no frills hotel that's very good for the money. The bus stop to Nyc port authority is about a block away and the free breakfast is pretty good. I love the waffles!!

One Word AWFUL!!

Not only did they get the room wrong. We asked for smoking and they booked us a non smoking room. Also at 8am they were doing renovation to the hotel which made rest very hard to get after getting in very late. The room was not clean, neat,or any appliances that were in the room either did not work or just was not there. So to say the least I would never stay at this hotel again.

Great for seeing NYC on a budget

The staff here was very friendly and helpful. They have printouts and bus schedules in the office with directions on how to take the bus in and out of NYC, including the departure gate number at the Port Authority. The bus goes directly to the Port Authority and is much faster than I expected (about 15 minutes). We asked the driver to stop at the Econo Lodge as we left NYC and had no problems getting back to the hotel. The hotel has a nice breakfast including cereal, muffins, juice etc. The area around the hotel is a little dirty, but our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is under construction. We were up by 9 a.m. and returned after dark so construction noise was not a problem for us. They have free covered parking and I noticed that the parking lot is under surveillance in the hotel office. Overall the hotel exceeded my expectations and is a great place to stay when trying to see NYC on a budget.

Bad experience!

I checked-in at 3 PM after a long drive and was unable to sleep until about 8 PM because of the construction work going on inside the building. It was too noisy. Toilet flush was broken. Terrible experience!

Perfect for a NYC trip!

Listen - it is a place to put your head! It isn't fancy but it is clean - the staff is very nice and prompt, I was allowed to bring my small dogs, and who can beat the price! Plus there is a bus line across the stree that goesw to NYC every 15-30 minutes ALL DAY EVERY DAY :)\n\nThere are two great food places nearby-- Redds and The Grasshopper. Plus you are two blocks fro, Giants stadium. The gas station prices were the cheapest around, too.\n\nYou aren't going to get mints on your pillow-- but who cares? I thought it was just fine for a family of three and 2 small pups.

Good place to stay

I stayed here spring of 2007 and it was OK. I came back March 2008 and what an improvement! The hotel is under new management and they have made many changes to the building and the rooms. The staff was helpful and friendly and seemed very proud of the ongoing improvements. This hotel is a great choice if you want a nice, inexpensive place close to the city. The bus stop is across from the hotel and the bus will stop at the hotel on the return trip. We had no problems at all with our two night stay.
