TL;DR: Nice premises, but hardly restful First, the Pros: - the staff were polite, and helpful. Housekeeping was on point - The hotel premises were clean, and the interior design was chic - It's a hotel with a long and rich history, and staying there gives that special vibe of immersing oneself in the past Now, the Cons - The hotel itself is divided into 2 locations about 6-8min apart (if you walk slowly), and are separated by a very steep and uneven climb (think that slope was about 45 degrees). The height of the 3rd/4th floor of the main building is at the height 1st floor of the accessory building. If you have knee/hip problems, heart problems, or have poor physical conditioning, you will definitely find this a challenge. - Because it's an older building, noises transmit across it incessantly (despite the rooms listed as "soundproof"). I stayed on the 3rd floor of the accessory building, with the bar on the 4th floor. The music, and noise (especially from dragging chairs!) didn't wane till after midnight. And my neighbours on the 2nd floor woke early. When combined, my rest at night wasn't restful at all, despite wearing earplugs.

A very eccentric property split into two buildings 2 blocks apart. Lovely rooms and great service with excellent staff. Unfortunately noisy from a restaurant below and a nightclub makes an early night impossible.

I’m disappointed to say that we were misinformed—or not informed at all—during our stay. This is not what I expected from a Marriott. We specifically chose this hotel for its rooftop and the advertised services, such as live music. Upon our arrival, I asked the receptionist about these features, but he avoided giving a clear explanation and simply mentioned that there were many restaurants nearby. Later, we discovered that the rooftop was under renovation. To our surprise, breakfast was not served in our building; we had to walk to a separate building across the street. No compensation or apology was offered for this inconvenience. Overall, the experience did not meet the standard I expect from Marriott. What a shame.

Be careful, this is a Franchise Hotel from Marriott. I encountered a deeply disappointing and stressful experience that fell far below Marriott’s usual standards. Despite arriving early and waiting patiently until the official check-in time, I was met with confusion at reception and was given a room that was already occupied. The worst was that the staff didn't really cared that made me feel more uncomfortable. It took 30 minutes to escalate the issue, and the alternate room provided was of a lower category, poorly insulated, and difficult for me to access due to a disability, also because it wasn't in the hotel official main building. It was by walking distance around 200m away, where I had a terrible night, because the windows weren't isolated at all and it was noisy from the floor above, possibly night work from the kitchen and in addition from outside. I only could sleep around 4am! Only after a second complaint I moved to a more appropriate room, though still not the one originally booked. The service personal proofed a poor customer experience and professional attitude. Sending a complaint to the Hotel, they still polished their answer to their advantage. I needed to send a complaint to the official Marriott Internation Support team that could help my request, on refunding the full cost of the first night. The hotel owner of the franchise wasn't supportive at all. If you want to ensure a relaxed holiday, this is definitely not the place you want to be in.

It's fine for the area. They have three buildings and we were not told which one we'd be in until we arrived. So we were then moved a few blocks away to their other location, which was a bit of a pain, especially with luggage and steep hills. They also wanted 140 Euros for an airport shuttle! The building facilities are fine and on par with other hotels.

Amazing boutique hotel in the charming and endlessly explorable Galata neighborhood. Tons of shopping, antique stores, bookstores, bars, cafes, restaurants in every direction. Room was large and very clean and had everything you could want or need. The rooftop restaurant served a huge breakfast with a wide variety of options, and the view from up there was breathtaking. Couldn't have asked for a better spot.

The property has character and charm along with a roof terrace restaurant that looks out on the Bosphorus. However, it is split on two sites and access involves walking up quite steep steps or negotiating a steep slope. As long as you are reasonably fit, I woould recommend it for your stay in Istanbul.

The stay started off not the best. We booked a room and part of the package was an upgrade although on arrival the upgraded room was in another building and we wanted to stay in the main building really. Was given the original room we booked and asked the staff to notify us of when a room becomes available in the main building we'd like to move there. They assured they would although no one got back to us even though there was availability. Maybe some miscommunication there. Emrah however in guest relations was excellent and sorted out our issue straight away which I was grateful for. The hotel is beautiful and within walking distance to Galata and close to the old city. Breakfast was decent and the views from breakfast were great.
