This Hampton is my usual choice for a short business trip to Istanbul. All the basics are there; it's hard to reach the entrance by car/taxi but this applies to the whole area, not just the hotel issue. The breakfast is definitely missing the meat cuts.

Unfortunately we were allocated the wrong size bed and a used room at first which had been smoked in, with rubbish from the previous guest and used hand towels in the bathroom. We had to insist to be moved to another room but the top part of the door frame fell onto us as we entered into the 2nd room. The next morning we were told we’d moved to another room, we agreed our bags/belonging would remain in our room until the new room was available and we’d swap over once we returned later that day. However when we returned there was some other guest in our room and our belongings had been moved without our permission. They had moved them to our new room but in the process lost some items. In the third room unfortunately the bathroom light wouldn’t turn off so it meant a restless night of sleep. At this point we were so annoyed at the hotel for getting it so wrong we gave up in asking them to sort the issues out. I hdid ask someone to try and fix this the following day which was done. There was also a problem with the toilet, you couldn’t flush it straight after using it, had to wait for the tank to refill and there was a slight sewage small towards the end of our stay. We tried to raise every issue we had during our stay at Hampton by Hilton Sirkeci, but felt we weren’t being taken seriously by the staff or manager. Which was a real shame as we had originally chosen a different hotel but thought this would be a nicer place to stay so changed it last minute when booking the trip.

The room we were in was very quiet. We couldn’t hear anything what was going on outside. So we had a very god sleep. However the pillows were so hard!!! Breakfast was good, location of the hotel is good too, close to the main attractions. Service was good too. In general it’s a decent hotel.

The cleanliness was impeccable. The breakfast was varied and had many options. I didn't like that I didn't find good coffee at breakfast. I would have preferred a Turkish coffee, but everything was ok.

My mother and I had a wonderful and comfortable stay. The hotel is situated on a steep hill where the taxis cant access between the hours of 10am to 8pm so if climbing steep hill is not your thing then be careful of that. Tip - you can walk down and then tell the security guards at the bottom of the hill that you have mobility issues and hopefully they should allow your taxi access to the hotel during the prohibited hours. Notable mentions: The breakfast was lovely, it wasn't huge but there was pretty much everything one might want. Im gluten and lactose intolerant. A big Shout out to MUSAMETTI, the breakfast manager who made sure all my dietary needs were taken care of so make sure to let him know if you have any special requirements because he'll make sure your catered for. If you get stuck for things to do, speak to YILMAZ. He made sure we had an interesting itinerary full of Istanbul's best to do list. He caught up with us every day and wrote out a fresh list of activities, directions and the best way to get there as well as how much we should pay in case we get ripped off. That's going above and beyond the call of duty and we were so grateful for it. At the reception: BALKAN - Let him know the time of your flight. Ours was in the evening and he have us a free late check out. GORKEM - gave us his personal metro travel card to use in case we needed it. So kind of them. Great job guys. Thank you all and the rest of the team for your exceptional customer service.
