The Motel 6 (LAX airport) is really in need of a make over and remodeling the Motel 6 looks worn out and intimidating and worn out sofas with sunk in cushions that looked like they needed to be tossed in a dumpster years ago. Worn down property &looks like a time capsule from 1980's There were sketchy looking people walking around in their pajamas and house slippers in the lobby area as if it was normal or acceptable attire. Requested an early check-in if possible... was told it was possible in approximately 2 hours or less but once I went to check-in at the desk I almost didn't catch the Motel 6 front desk staff saying that it would be $30.00 plus the deposit to check-in in so I kindly DECLINED any extra fees just to go lay down and get out of the unseasonably frigid and cold weather. So I continued to sit on the uncomfortable sofa and waited until check-in time. I was then annoyed by sitting in the lobby & observed staffers and management argue with other Motel 6 guests about why there wasn't going to be any hotel shuttle service until 2pm and people were forced to pay for taxi service or miss their airline flight. I observed them ( staff and management) hustling customers for extra hidden parking fees otherwise they would call the police to get more money for the time it took for them to load their cars in order to check out Motel 6 has a million signs saying No Smoking (No Marijuana or Cigarette smoking) but hotel hallway smelt like fresh Marijuana smoke. UNACCEPTABLE!

Hotel room was clean. Very limited time for coffee in the morning. No coffeE machine in room and fridge didn’t exist. Way to many rules and regulations dying your stay. It was like staying at a detention centre. Lots of ppl in lobby of hotel and blocking entrance. Security should have asked ppl to clear the entryway. Parking was also an issue when exiting since the ma home didn’t work properly and when contacting staff they would tell you to come in and get another ticket all the while there are cars behind you also waiting to exit to property. Very stressful stay with all the rules and threats of fines. Rooms don’t get cleaned daily and was never informed when checking in that you had to request it. Service was very poor. Coffee vending machine was broke so No coffee

Of the cheaper options in the area, this Motel 6 is one of the nicest and safest options. Elevators required key cards to get to specific floors, there was security outside. It is also a lot nicer that other motels.
