Our favorite place to stay in Waikiki

We always enjoy our stay at the Ilikai condominiums! Its an absolute great location!!! This unit didn't disappoint with stunning sunset views and great views overlooking the boat marina & Ala Moana Bowls surf spot. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location! Views were wonderful of the harbor and sunsets. Place was clean. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom stocked with necessities. Kitchen cabinets could be updated. Overall, great place to stay and easy walking distance to shops and beach.

Great location

The property was a little dated and we weren't able to stream to the TV because we didn't have android devices. It didn't have the personal touch that the last place I stayed at in the same building did.But the location was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous View and Awesome Location

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 13 days. The studio is spacious. It’s had a gorgeous beach harbor view. We can see beautiful beach sunset just from our balcony. We love the location. It’s super walkable and convenient to malls, beaches, the main Waikīkī beach stripe, etc I am taking one star off because the unit floor wasn’t clean. The unit didn’t provide any cleaning materials or laundry detergent.

The condo was just as the pictures portrayed. The location was perfect as it was close to shopping and the beach. There was a car rentals agency in the main lobby and we were able to rent a car for a day trip. We enjoyed nightly music and entertainment from our balcony. (ended by 9pm). We would definitely stay here again.

There were plenty of towels ,tissues, toilet paper etc.We have been coming to Honolulu for over 30 years and the illikai is the best so far. I would have liked to have known about the elevator noise that was a bit annoying late night/ early morning but it wouldn’t stop me from staying again. A can of insect spray would have been good for the One huge cockroach we encountered.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is exactly as the pictures show. Perfect for a couple. The view of the marina and ocean was great to enjoy coffee in the morning on the lanai. There are lots of restaurants, shopping, bars, beaches, bus stop and walking areas just out the door. Plus not as busy as down on Waikiki, the Ala Moana Mall in walking distance. It is close enough to Waikiki that catching the $5 pink trolley will get you there quickly. I would recommend this condo & the complex to friends. The condo was clean, you do need to bring any spices and coffee. The restaurant at the top of the complex has a great view and lunch specials. Our condo contact answered any questions we had, no need for a car.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were looking for a comfortable, clean, and convenient place to stay, and we got exactly that! As for conveniences, the kitchen was stocked with every appliance and kitchen tool that we needed. The unit was next to the elevator, and the trash chute and laundry room were nearby. There is a coffee shop, ice cream shop, convenience store, and other small businesses located on the lobby floor. Comfort - both the pull-out couch and the bed were very comfortable. The view from the lanai was INCREDIBLE. Every night we had a spectacular view of the sunset, however, we were NOT able to view the Friday night fireworks from our lanai as we had hoped. We did have a minor issue with the TV but the property manager addressed it immediately. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze. We had a really amazing time and would definitely stay here again! Thank you!

If you are not tight in budget, I don’t recommend this room

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location is the only one thing we satisfied. The room face the west, after 1 pm it is extremely hot, we are not able to sit in the balcony and enjoyed view. The room and building pretty old, everywhere doing re-model and construction , upstairs and neighbor. The property management was not able to give solutions either. The room bathroom is water stuck . So what we can do daytime we can’t stay in room. Anyway, a lot improvement the room has to fixed, if you are not tight in budget, this room definitely not your choice

Waikiki Stay

Stayed at the Ilikai almost fifty years ago so this was a homecoming of sorts. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy, we slept well. The rooms here are small so I wouldn't recommend a long stay. There was a small Lanai to sit out and enjoy the view. The room could use some freshening up, paint, finishes and a few other things. Did not do any cooking but the room did have all the necessary appliances. Kitchen and bath are small but worked for the two of us. The room is next to the elevator. Although convenient it can be annoying at times. It really didn't bother us that much. The location is good. Close to most things. We didn't rent a car so walking was our first option. Needless to say, we did a lot of walking. Maybe a mile mile and a half one way gets you to most of the Waikiki restaurants and shopping. Used a lyft a few times to get to Diamond head, downtown. The hotel restaurant is above average as is the coffee shop and market. There is an ABC store across the street and the Chart House restaurant around the corner. We would stay at the Ilikai again in the future.

Reviewer Comments: When we were looking for a place and saw this spot, it was hard to beat the price due to the location and was willing to overlook the age of this iconic place. Yes, the room was dated BUT it did not fail to deliver. It provided everything that we needed (and those killer views of the sunsets!). If you’re like us that spends all day & evenings outdoors while retreating in the evenings to shower, sleep, grab a snack or whip up a quick meal in the kitchen, this place will serve you well. If you’re picky about appearances and are not willing to take things in stride, go stay at the more expensive places. It delivered for us and we wouldn’t mind staying here again! Oh and to add, the communication & instructions could NOT have been any better! Very clear & smooth process with clear instructions & information from start to end. The only negatives is that the elevators shut down the morning of our departure and had to carry our luggage down the stairs. No fault of the host but it was a challenge. Fortunately, we traveled light. Maybe the host would voice disapproval with the responsible party on the behalf of their guests about the unscheduled interruption. Overall, we’re happy and am glad

Bed is placed on the same wall as an elevator; you will be able to hear it all night (not terribly obnoxious but notable). A fan was available in the closet and was great for white noise. Shower drainage isn’t great, it pools as the drain sits higher than the lowest point. Also, the bathroom door is a louvered door; you will hear and smell everything. This would be a priority fix for me and a huge downside to this place. Didn’t use the stove but great to have a larger refrigerator/kitchen. Most things provided; didn’t have a dish drying rack though (which would have been helpful). Elevators are small and it does take time to get up and down during peak times. Chose to do valet parking, they were fast. Didn’t even look for the self-parking option a block away. Note: during peak times; there is a lot of foot traffic and car traffic getting in and out of driveway area. They had cable TV available, but the remote to control the box was a bit finicky to use (in case that matters to anyone reading this). Credit card laundry room (washer and dryer) and trash room was very close to the unit and very easy to find. Overall, a comfortable stay for short or longer term; it is dated but comfortable (most places in Hawaii are). Would stay again, convenient location a bit further away from the main Waikiki area but still close enough.
