The hotel was perfect! Great location, extremely friendly staff, clean, beautiful views and delicious breakfast included. If you are going to Hermanus, this is THE BEST PLACE to stay for sure!
Enjoyed our stay in Hermanus. Lovey helpful staff. Clean throughout. Safe covered car park with flat Walk into town. Would definitely go for full sea view if we stayed again rather than partial view over adjacent properties.
The staff are the differentiating factor - friendly and engaging beyond the call of duty. The Hotel has also been thoughtfully designed, making the stay effortless and comfortable.
A modern and comfortable hotel. We had a fabulous sea view room with a big balcony and an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was large and the shower great.
A great hotel in handy location with amazing staff. Lovely little touches like a baked cake every afternoon as well as supporting local children. Nothing too much trouble.
Loved my stay at this hotel. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. The rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and made to your preference. The location was great with the cliff walk directly opposite the hotel and it was a quick walk to many great restaurants. Parking was also secure and safe. Would highly recommend.
Quite nice, but no lift. Very helpful, pleasant staff. Really only served breakfast. Stay was spoiled by loss of power due to a storm with only limited back up from solar.

Liked: Staff & service
Great staff and location, but room, breakfast and facilities were lacking - did not feel like a 5 star hotel. Our bedroom was often damp, the carpet had wet spots and 1 day our bed sheets had wet patches that we had to blow dry. The bedroom was also directly next to a roundabout so heavy traffic and no privacy to see the views / needed more sound proofing.
Beautiful, large, airy new rooms. Wonderfully hospitable staff. Attentive to your needs in advance of your arrival. This property is right by the cliff walk where you can watch for whales. You can grab an afternoon bite and cocktails at a popular bar bayside across the street. Center of town is about 1/2 mile away.
Room was spacious and clean. The staff was not paying much attention and service was slow and unfriendly. Every time you go in/out they need to open the gate. Not very efficient and a little annoying.
Breakfast was mediocre.
"Ocean view" rooms are overlooking the road and unlikely to be worth the extra price.
Does not deserve 5*

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The Hotel claims for himself to be a five star hotel, but in this time it could be only three stars, the Hotel is under Renovation, it smells on cement ,many things are not working, in the morning it is noisy, because the handcraftsmen start with theire work.
A gem of a hotel —elegant, comfortable rooms with glorious ocean views. The breakfast are huge and delicious. But what makes the hotel are the staff members . I’ve never been at a hotel were the staff felt like friends who joked with us and cheerfully anticipated our every need. One evening my husband didn’t feel like eating out, so we got some take out from a local restaurant. When they saw us arrive with it, the staff immediately got plates and cutlery and glasses for us and set us up in the pretty garden. We didn’t want to leave this haven .
