House is gorgeous, property management company stinks!
We checked in Friday night around 6pm and the driveway and property was very dark with no lights on. Once we entered the house we attempted to turn the outside light on but it didn’t work. The bedrooms downstairs were freezing. We couldn’t locate a thermostat anywhere downstairs.We assumed that meant the heat downstairs was controlled by the upstairs thermostat but it didn’t specify separate zones so we were confused. I went through the welcome book to make sure there wasn’t something we were missing and there were no instructions on the heat downstairs so I contacted the property manager who assured me that she would have a “local staff member” get in touch. That never happened! On Sunday evening we had a small snowstorm and lost power. The house has an automatic generator, which was fantastic! Unfortunately, there were no directions on if we needed to do anything with the generator, or to know for sure what exactly it controlled. We noticed that the downstairs portion of the house was not hooked up to the generator so we couldn’t plug the space heaters in. We contacted them again and were told that someone from the local staff would be in touch. Today is Monday. We are home and have yet to receive a call back from either of our calls. I did receive an email apologizing for the “inconvenience” needless to say we will never rent from them again! It’s really a shame because the house and property are beautiful! I cut the review short due to limited word count. -1 star Vacasa!
