Host was very helpful in promptly answering questions and taking care of a need we had. We had two families of 4 staying. The cabin can indeed sleep 8, but not comfortably. Two of the three beds downstairs would be more conducive for younger children. The upstairs king bed is comprised of two mattresses on top of one another, stacked on a platform. While we understood the need to add height by putting something underneath the mattress, another mattress didn’t work well, as it wasn’t supportive. We were grateful for the air conditioning this week, as it got quite warm and the bedding is quite warm. It will likely be excellent for colder months! If you sleep hot, you may prefer to bring some cotton sheets for the summer.
We were grateful to have a mama and her cubs put on a show for us on the front hill. We saw them a couple times this week. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the basement porch after some long days on our feet.
This cabin is wonderful—nestled quite high and surrounded by woods. However, it also has quite a lot of stairs to climb from the driveway to make it in the house. The picture of the front doesn’t show half of them. There are around 30 steps. So, I wouldn’t recommend it for older or handicapped folks.
We enjoyed the decor and appreciated having access to the fire sticks for watching shows and a movie in the evenings. The kitchen serving ware was adequate, slightly lacking enough silverware for 8 people. The dining table was great, very sturdy and large, seating 8 adults. The appliances were all on the newer side and in good working order as well.
