Great Home for Family

Perfect home for our 10 member family vacation. Video arcade games were a blast for kids and adults. Great decks with excellent views. Plenty of living areas. Highly recommend this home!!

This place is gorgeous. Plenty of space for all 17 of us. We had trouble with the ice maker in the refrigerator and Rhonda answered us and helped us right away. Super nice person! We had the best vacation ever!

Wonderful experience

We had a wonderful experience staying at morning star! Our whole family of 20 people had plenty of beds and bathrooms. The cabin had everything we needed and then some. Our children loved playing in the game room. The Mountain views were breathtaking. Much better views than Anakeesta. Watching the sun rise and set over the mountains was unforgettable. The cabin was a very short drive from the downtown area. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. I would receive a response minutes after sending a message. Thank you for the memories! We hope to be back someday soon.

Great family getaway

We loved this cabin. It had the best game room of any cabin we have ever rented, and our son loved it very much. The host was very responsive and helpful. The road in is pretty steep and windy and some of our party didn’t love that, but the view was great and we would stay again.

Family Christmas Weekend

We met at the cabin with four generations of family for an early Christmas. The cabin was so pretty and the view is fabulous. The kids loved the game room and the bunk room. There are tv’s everywhere and plenty of places to curl up to rest or visit. The decks are very nice. Hot tub was clean and warm. (We ran to the store for extra paper towel, dishwasher tabs and toilet paper.) Be sure to keep food out of your cars. We had bear prints on our car two hours after we unloaded our groceries. Maybe they smelled the food that had been in there. We didn’t allow the little kids outside without adults, but it was too cold anyway. The mountain drive up is windy, but easy if you take your time. Lots of amazing cabins to see driving up, But this one is at the top! It was clean and everything was working fine. The blackstone was rusty, but we oiled it good and cooked fine on it. We purchased two propane tanks for the fire pit and grills and left them there. I’d say it’s the honor system on that. The fire pit was relaxing and so nice. I recommend this cabin. We had 7 adults, 5 kids and 1 teen comfy as can be.

Please come prepared to this property

If you are visiting, bring your own coffee and coffee filters. Also bring toilet paper and garbage bags as well as dishwasher soap and paper towels. Bears actually got into our cars while we were still unpacking. Don’t forget to lock your cars! Three bears opened car doors and unzipped suitcases. unfortunately, the host was not available as advertised to give us an access code at 3:45. We we arrived at 4, we called repeatedly and tried to get help from Vrbo, but the help only sent us back to the host phone. Which went straight to voicemail. I was convinced that we had been scammed and was trying to figure out how to get other accommodations for 24 people. The host said the booking software had somehow failed and she didn’t answer because her phone was charging. There were also not enough sheets and towels for the number of guests we had. The views were fantastic, but the host did not make it relaxing.

Unbeatable view with all the amenities

We had a great stay here. The house was very well equiped and had all of the amenities! There was so much to do that we barely left the house while we were there except to use the neighborhood tennis and pickleball courts! When we did need something, Gatlinburg was a short drive and there was a nice little general store nearby if you didn't want to deal with the crowds. The best thing of all was the view on all 3 decks! The view was unbeatable! The property managers were also quick to reply to any questions and we had zero issues. Thanks! :)

Awesome views and a beautiful place to stay

We rented the house to celebrate with our family after getting married. The beds were comfortable, the views were amazing, and the arcade room was a great additon to our stay. There were several curious bears that wandered on to the property. One even tried to open the door to one of our cars! The only downside to our stay was we were told there was an air hocky table before we booked but there wasn't one in the game room when we arrived, the road to the cabin is steep and windy but just drive a little slower and it's ok. Would definitely stay here again if we ever come back with a large group of people. 😃

Family Reunion

Our stay was nothing short of wonderful! We had 20 people (adults down to a 2 yo) and there was plenty of space for everyone to sleep and enjoy the house. I will say that even the fridge is big, for a party our size, we had some spacing isuses with the fridge, but that's not on the host - that's more so large families are take into consideration. We had great weather and primarily used the outside space for dining so eating space wasn't an issue for us - just be mindful if you're eating inside, you can seat about up to 10 people in the same area. The views are spectacular and the kids all loved the arcade area and the room with the bunk beds. They had space to play, hang out, watch movies - we couldn't have asked for a better house for kids 2-15! We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return if we're in the area!

Nice stay in the Smokies

Great location, with many comfy beds and beautiful views. The hot tub was a hit and we also used the community pool several times. Several bear sightings during our visit! Functional kitchen that served our needs, a blackstone and grill added to the convenience. Water pressure in the showers is very gentle but all bathrooms work well (and there are tons!) Plenty of places to hang out with groups or solo, but the dinner table only accommodate 8.8.

Weekend Getaway

Went to this cabin with 14 people total. Unbeatable views of the mountains! We actually went atop Anakeesta mountain via the gondola and the views were much less impressive than our views from the cabin’s deck. Plenty of hanging out space and sleeping space for all. Property was extremely clean and host was super responsive when questions arose. Location was excellent as it provides easy drives to downtown Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. I would have liked the house to have more trash bags (had maybe 5-6) as well as usual house condiments (butter, mayo, oils, etc) as the property didn’t have anything in that regards. Plenty of parking spaces, we saw bears on numerous occasions right from our deck, and very clean cabin overall. Would highly recommend!

Wedding Weekend Stay

The best part of this house are definitely the views. The house itself had a good layout for our families to stay for our wedding weekend. Enough space for everyone and dog friendly for our best man. The arcade games were great for the kiddos and adults. I would recommend this house.

Family Wedding Venue

The home is lovely but very small kitchen and living area on main floor to accommodate up to 25 guests. We had nine adults and were unable to all be together on the main floor. The bottom level could accommodate more but steep stairs kept the older family members from being able to go down. That being said, everything else was fantastic. The views at sunrise were spectacular, napping on the porch bed was so relaxing, and the over-sized hot tub was a favorite. The trip up To the chalet is curvy and a little challenging but that’s what the adventure is about and part of the memories you make. Thank you to the owners for making communication so effortless and keeping up informed every step of the way. Our week at Morning Star was a joyful time…. even with tornado watches and crazy storms…the majority of the guests were professional photographers and loved all that nature provided. Loved our stay!

Looks bigger in the photos!

The kitchen and living look bigger in the photos than they actually are. It’s advertised for sleeping 24 but it’s realistically more like 20, especially if your group is mostly adults and teens. For example two of the bunk beds are for kids under 9 (about 4 x3 feet in dimensions ). Also the kitchen is too small if you’re preparing food for 20+ people. The living can maximally sit 7 people. The balcony kind of makes up for it with the outside chairs if the weather is nice. One of the beds was broken when we arrived. It was fixed the second night but two people slept on the floor. The owner did not entertain a partial refund!
